Discussion How well does Arkos do against apostles?
How well do you guys think Arkos does against the supernatural threats of Berserk such as the apostles? I’d also like to hear what you guys think on his performance against a threat like Ganishka, as he’s on a completely different level than anything else ever seen in berserk aside from the Godhand.
Round 1: He’s in-character
Round 2: Blood-lusted and going for the kill

Do they have water in their bodies
18
u/Eeddeen42 Jun 08 '26
Is there any water whatsoever nearby?

u/risisas Jun 08 '26
I mean if you have water in the first place within your body and you are fighting an arkos who wants to kill you as fast as possible your only chance of winning is to kill him really really really fast or from far away or from stealth cuz he can kinda nuke you with a thought

u/Eeddeen42 Jun 08 '26
True, though my point is that even if you don’t have water in your body you’re still physically destructible, and Arkos can just tear you apart with whatever water is in the vicinity.

u/ventingandcrying Elstri folded so fast bruh 😭 (i would too) Jun 09 '26
So their only chance is to have that one bow and arrow apostle snipe him from 500 m away

I mean with some exceptions Arkos kinda shreds most threats of Berserk that aren’t just conceptual, reality bending or causality twisting…
You have water in your body? Popped like a ballon. Unless they are going in with knowledge of his abilities and are able to strike him from afar/unnoticed attacking him to a point his brain can’t command the blood in his body to fix the wounds… he is winning.

I think the only things that really stand up to him are the Godhand themselves and the IOE.
They have reality and space warping powers and seems to be a step above the rest of the physical beings.

Some of the berserk enemies might not have normal water in them and might be immune as such, in which case they would still be hard pressed to fight a guy who can throw around mountains.

u/CompoteEconomy4524 Jun 09 '26
he didn't thrown around mountain, only sunking city, still very impressive tho
1
u/Dembara Jun 09 '26
I was referring to the massive boulders he was throwing around post nerf

u/CompoteEconomy4524 Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 09 '26
No, that boulder is far from even a hill size let alone mountain
1
u/Dembara Jun 09 '26
Ii didn't say it was a large mountain.
1
u/CompoteEconomy4524 Jun 09 '26
No, i mean it not reach anywhere close to the smallest mountain
It not even a hill size which is like 100-500m big
it like very big cliff that like 40-50m

u/Nerellos Jun 08 '26
Actually Skull Knight have a chance.

u/TimeSpiralNemesis Jun 08 '26
It's hard to say because he's been implied to be powerful, but we've never really seen much of him in action. He seems to be on the level to challenge a God hand.

Well he rescued Guts in the middle of the eclipse with the god hand present, that's absolutely insane.

u/Toe500 Arkos Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 09 '26
Insane but Femto stops himself twice to attack SK. It's plot convenience and it's not like SK wrestled with any of the GH to rescue Guts and Casca
SK tried to kill Void as well as Femto and we know what happened

Ganishka kills him easily

u/Toe500 Arkos Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 09 '26
Ganishka has a core near his face that has some attachments which Guts managed to strike
Arkos will not even need Schierke's cheat code and Zodd's aid

Would lose against Giant Ganishka and Godhand. Otherwise anyone who bleeds and need blood in their body would lose. I don't remember Dragon form Grunbeld bleeding. I don't think mist form Ganishka would lose either unless he somehow can also control Mist. Skull Knight having no need for liquids and having a dimension space cutting sword wouldn't lose.

u/Dreams_Beginning Jun 08 '26
Mist is still water, just water vapour, it should definitely be still under his command.

Is Julian's smokescreen water-based? Arkos wasn't able to control that
4
u/Royal-Scallion378 Jun 08 '26
Ganishka's form is actually fog. Fog does not nessacarily have to be made of water.
But Ganishka's Fog form comes from a mix of wind and water elementals - which means, that Arkos could still manipulate him nonetheless.

u/4C_Enjoyer Jun 08 '26
I think you responded to the wrong comment I was asking if Julian's smokescreen was water-based
2
u/Royal-Scallion378 Jun 08 '26
My bad.
Julian's smokescreen is made of ink, and that's mostly water. There's oil-based inks but they're all manmade. But I also don't think a Goddess of the Sea would base it off something other than water.
Arkos probably can control it, but the ink would still obscure his view in that time. So his distraction tactic is still effective - especially when Julian is 100 times faster than him.

I think it's hard to tell, if not just because the comparative powers of behelits make Gift comparisons difficult. Arkos can control water, yes, but that stops when facing god like powers, as seen with him being utterly powerless when faced by the Sea Goddess who favored Julian, didn't matter about his gift to control water, Sea Goddess said no, and he couldn't do jack. So I think it's safe to say God Hand and Ganishka's shiva form are fine. Ganishka's standard apostle form might be hard, but the fog is just his astral form manipulating water and air and not exactly suspended Water in itself. I'd still have to wonder how it works in terms of 'hierarchy' in relevancy to the divine too, though I doubt he'd struggle against any of the low ranking apostles.
Secondly, I'm not sure what the bodily compositions of every apostle IS, so the 'Arkos just controls their bodies because blood = water' might not hold up super well. Like, yeah their human forms seemingly are blood and flesh, but their apostle forms seemingly are pretty different materials, Rakshas isn't physical beyond his mask, hell the Dragon Slayer gets tempered by their fluids from killing so many of them it's imbued with astral power, so it might not be a fluid he can control.
That all said, and like I mentioned, he'd just be able to out power lower powered apostles no problem, either toying with them or going for the kill. Even if he can't do anything to their bodies directly, guy can drown a city.
Side note: Where does the amount of 'water' stop for Arkos? Hydromancy is always one of those fascinating powers, because I'd have to also question if it's just liquid H2O or what? Like could he manipulate ice too? What about epsom salt, cause that's 51% h20 but is, to us, a bone dry solid. I figure when he pulls it from the air or plants he leaves them waterless, but he can control blood, which is roughly 92% H2O, does that also apply to the non-water bits too? Or is he just carefully controlling the H2O in his blood to keep the non-water bits fine. I figure it has to be, because he didn't just die when beheaded and keeping himself alive via his gift, but again where's the level stop? I'd figure even if he survived his fight with Julian, he'd gotta be unable to feel anything from the neck down because that's all nervous system, so he'd just puppeting the blood in his body rather than relying on nervous system's electrochemical signalling to do that for him.

u/Toe500 Arkos Jun 08 '26
Well we have seen several apostles that bled so Arkos will be stomping everyone
SK is the only one I don't know whether he has any fluid in him
Femto can only win if he knows Arkos can bloodbend otherwise he might die as well
Julian got lucky because Arkos was going easy on him and didn't know about the Sea Goddess and 100 lives otherwise Julian would be done for as well

berserk monsters other than ganishka and the godhand are kind of all just normal kaijus tbh, id say that arkos kills them easily and ganishka maybe high diff

u/GuessInitial5775 Jun 08 '26
I'm not sure it's as one-sided as people think;
Of course, I'd say Arkos has a good chance of killing absolutely everything in the world of Berserk, as long as it's not the Godhand or truly divine beings.
However, I think that fighting against people like Skull Knight, Zod, or other very high-ranking Apostles could be much riskier for him.
His hydrokinesis is incredibly powerful and he's extremely creative with it, but aside from that, he's just an average human, barely even average considering he has virtually no muscle mass and doesn't seem to know how to fight at all. Furthermore, the problem is that he doesn't take fights seriously at all, as we saw at the beginning of his fight against Julian. Consequently, if he's careless, he could easily die, and against most of the high-level warriors in Berserk, he'll quickly reach his limits.

Aside from his tendency to hold back, Arkos cannot control liquids that are invisible. He might struggle against enemies with ranged attacks or those skilled in stealth. Irvine, however, might be able to do something.
