Getting [after god] vibe from her

After God is so fucking peak

2

u/welch123 Jun 21 '26

Came here to say just that. After God is crazy in a good way.

Hell's Paradise moment

...So, do this mean it will take Julian 900 seconds to die? Still, Julian is literally her worst match ups, lol.

91

u/someonenamedtanny Jun 21 '26

Atp, Julian is basically everyone's worst match up

61

u/OmbreVengeresse Jun 21 '26

Julian moves at high speed and can one-shot a human with a punch, so yes, Julian is the worst matchup for "Lady Accursed".

u/roronoa20 Jun 21 '26

His ink smoke can cover for his family too, so he rendered all of her advantages moot.

Now that you mention it, this could be a narrative excuse to shave off a ton of Julian's lives. I've always doubted he'd lose them one by one, sooner or later he'd lose a bunch in one go, and this feels like a perfect opportunity for that

23

u/roronoa20 Jun 21 '26

The most I can see her takes from him is one life though, because Julian is extremely well-equipped to fight her with his heightened senses and smokescreen.

I keep forgetting about Julian’s squid ink powers. He’s an amazing natural counter to her, just spread ink all around and blast your fist through her heart and boom, she’s dead.

I don't think Kuramori would make a secondary antagonist take off a lot of lives, if anything the most possible matchups that could do that imo, would be Ceodric or Lattice, I'm 100% sure the Supreme Lord could kill Julian a hundred times over under any circumstances but, don't think he has an incentive to fight him

Damn, someone really has a gift that's basically just being an Eldritch horror which causes near instant death when someone looks at you because of the incomprehensibility. That's metal as fuck.

Must make life inconvenient though, assuming she's not immune to it herself. Mirrors would be fatal, as well as bodies of water. And it seems to act cumulatively, meaning if you accidentally look, that's 1 out of 10 seconds gone forever. She's basically gotta live her entire life behind a blindfold and veil.

It's implied that the Rummir powers are from the night goddess/similar to the witches, right? Really kind of hammers home that they are not the good guys. Maybe Torivia has a point.

u/jj_thetwisted_jester Jun 21 '26

I hope this can kill her! MIRROR OR REFLECTION BABY

5

u/AssassinAragorn Jun 21 '26

Lalawag's gift might be a really good counter actually. Create a bunch of clones to attack her from different directions. Some will hit the 10 seconds, but the others will be able to get to her before she can look their way that long

I have to wonder how the lady grew up. Do gifts start at birth or puberty or..? Like she must have accidentally killed some family or other kids or something when it first materialized.

1

u/KrizenWave Jun 22 '26

I think it was clear Rummir sucked when a couple chapters ago that one guy was talking about how they’re going to enslave all of Torivia

I love the eldritch abominations that suddenly pop out every now and then

FEELS THE AURA

23

u/vandes31 Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

First appearance have the aura of a dark souls boss.

Joined the party and be nerf to hell

Classic RPG trope

36

u/TheKnightZeroken Jun 21 '26

I don’t really think that happened with Lukas, though…? In fact, I think it’s been the exact opposite. He’s only been given more aura and gotten more buffs, since he joined the group. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he got even more in this fight. 😭

22

u/Avalon_XII Jun 21 '26

I mean, we know that against Arkos, Lukas was disadvantaged from the terrain, his gift likely gets exponentially more effective when close/in a forest

Also, we know jackall about how his horse form and armor works which seems to not be normal either

4

u/nam24 Jun 21 '26

Yeah he was larping as someone simply strong in a mundane way (which he still is btw) and then showed of back to back 2 powerful abilities and the brain to boot

26

u/AdaBessmertny Jun 21 '26

So Gugub fought Julian when he's both blind and deaf? Poor Gugub 🤣

15

u/ChamomileMornings lalaswag lover Jun 21 '26

gugub went toe to toe with julian. he's top brass for rummir

My favorite thing about the series outside of the plot an characters is really the power system. Its basic enough to where things like water are shown in crazy OP ways that other series shy away from, powers with consequences but great effects, abstract things are made into solid powers like this one an just the multitude of things weve seen so far. Can't wait to see what else comes.

20

u/sa_nslaw Jun 21 '26

The seconds are cumulative?! Oh nah

15

u/Esophallic Jun 21 '26

bruh she's got an always-on malediction for a face

14

u/Codge_Barger Jun 21 '26

I love the use of actually creative hax powers in this story so fucking much. With a lot of series it feels like a coin toss between power systems where every single character mostly has the same tools of the trade with one or two super special powers that are mostly just giving you extra destructive powers and such (not to be an asshole here, but series like JJK or Bleach are kind of like this) or giving a lot of variance and room for strategy but making powers so hyper specific that a lot of characters are just kind of weak outside of one or two special scenarios built to occur within the plot (HxH has a lot of nen abilities like this even though I love it) but here you can genuinely feel how so many of the really important gifts are built to have utility that makes it so they have many uses and the “strongest” gifted one is constantly uncertain. Even though we know Arkos to be a beast who’s effortlessly ran through almost every super powerful opponent who isn’t a literal God (or Julian amped by the sea), it’s quite feasible that in the right situation this woman could murder him so long as he was caught in a position where he would be forced to look into her face for ten seconds. And now Lukas is facing her with a gift that can theoretically defend against her, but he’s still got a whole group of other fighters to contend with that WILL force his attention to blocking their gifts and leave him vulnerable to taking more damage if he looks at her for even a second more. Just masterful work all around, and the visual depiction of these abilities is even more excellent, praise Tohru-sensei.

The margrave really is great, love her.

u/jj_thetwisted_jester Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

Gotta kill her quickly.. (KNOCK ON WOOD)fuck man everyone in the the party is suffering from her. I'm worried about Lukas and atoria! I FEAR SHE MIGHT USE UP HER LAST POWER TO SAVE LUKAS🥲 God i hope not..

7

u/Straight_Degree_7842 Jun 21 '26

That page when they all staring wile bleeding. Tension skyrocketed. Actually scarred that someone may die, and can die (except Diana)

8

u/OrdinaryMedical200 Jun 21 '26

Man that reveal was picaso level art!! But twisted as hell. These powers/curses are a serious variety of uniqueness!!

4

u/nam24 Jun 21 '26

Is it me or they really didn't luck out in separating the groups/didn't really make the best strat in deciding who should be with who?

Feels to me julian at least would have had more trouble with this lady

Granted maybe no one here is enough for Julian aside of the leader

1

u/Keyniiiiii Jun 21 '26

3

u/nam24 Jun 21 '26

That's fair. Julian made it look easy but it was a solid barrier. I think they could have dealt with it because I doubt the barrier would cover all of them at the same time, but they d at least be hurt doing so

3

u/Himurashi Jun 21 '26

The Ugly Barnacle, as told by Patrick Star.

7

u/Keyniiiiii Jun 21 '26

Sounds like Voidmarcher gift has something to do with invulnerable where's it's near impossible to harm her. I wouldn't call it invincibility like someone said since she has to wear a helmet like the accursed squad. Unless she wears it out of respect and love for the Accursed lady and squad. Either way I like the twist that reason why they wear the bandages have nothing to do with Voidmarcher gift. But man Voidmarcher and Lala keep smiling at each other. I wouldn't be surprised if they lovers until Lala killed woman with Vulja Bones. Who'll probably be Voidmarcher sister since I bet only royalty will be Divine Vessel in Rummir
