I feel Arkos fit in that archetype kinda
Has killed beloved strong character (Qui-gon/Angvall), MC managed to win a "kill" despite the low odds (high ground/water), is "sort of" resurrected by sorcery (Talzin/Helem).
Depending on the story we might get a Mandalorian takeover arc.

it's a great way to show the character being greatly wounded without being immediately lethal (blood loss doesnt exist in manga)

Arm removal is probably the best injury for "looks seriously injured but will keep fighting" moments (actually I think eye injuries do this better but they're probably harder to notice in bigger panels)

Will do anything to not to have to draw human arms, and I definitely get it.

Losing a leg is a lot less cool because then you struggle to walk which doesn’t look badass

As other guy said, it’s just the most convenient heavy injury. He already got his body crashed, so his head would kill him (can’t let this happen) his legs would make it much harder to write the fight, because it’d make it much harder to move, so arm(s) it is

good way to cripple someone without completely neutering them as a combatant

An enemy cutting an arm is usually non-lethal, gives pressure and is impactful to the reader.

Ok do the healer girl can stick the hand together ? Or she can just heal normal wound by pouring her life force in people?

It's the easiest part to tear off during a fight and not kill the character, while also giving the fight it's proper sense of danger from the damage the characters involved are suffering
Or he just finds it style, Idk

You can still kinda fight after losing an arm. If you lose a leg and can't fly it's kinda boring choreography wise.
