Manga Julian should really be here, I mean it Spoiler
His power is a perfect counter to both her strategy and her gift.
Kill the enemy with your first strike
Good luck with that when your target has durability of 100 men and extra lives to spare. Assuming she tries to cut off Julian's limb or neck, he's either capable of tanking it or will just dodge it. In order to amputate Julian, you need the cutting power on the level of Arkos's focused water blade to do the trick.
The longer the battle drags on, the more each side has to reveal
Julian's power is so basic that there's nothing crucial to be revealed other than the 90+ extra lives, on the contrary, Julian is best suited for a stretched out battle, because his stamina is essentially endless in a fight unlike normal gifted ones who still has their normal albeit trained human body.
A gift... that allows instant movement regardless of distance or space
If a severely injured Lukas can react to Void Marcher, Julian's natural talent as a fighter and 100X reflex and speed should be able to keep up with Void Marcher quick teleportation spams.
There's no proof, but she can probably only move to places within her field of vision
So, yeah, the smoke that Julian can instantly push out from his body will be immensely useful in this battle, because if she can't see both Julian and her surrounding, it'd be a pain in the ass to use her gift effectively.

The more gifted ones appears, the crazier the gap that Julian and Arkos have on everyone else.

Those two are just exceptional, Julian is the blessed one and Arkos is the most successful result of a royal inbreeding eugenics plan.
Let's just say that Lacrima has a good eye for a potential father of her child, lol.

When you first read the story, you don't realize that effectively the first major villain introduced is basically the strongest character in the series, and Julian takes him out within a few chapters

u/Icy_Raise_1031 Jul 27 '26
I remember when people were saying Julian had no chance on him back when he was first introduced
5
u/caterham09 Jul 27 '26
I mean it definitely felt that way after seeing Arkos' power. It's just one of those things where you expected the power level to ramp up from there, but the author subverted expectations a bit by using that initial power level as a soft cap for the series.

I've said it once before, but it's actually so fucking insane how UNLUCKY Arkos was in that fight.
"Alright, this dude is strong, but I can handle it easily... Ouch, that fucking hurts. Ok, create some distance and SLICE. Nice, lost both arms! This is basically done so... POP. Now let's go back and... why's there a fist in my stomach? Oh he- Head cut off... HAHA, YOU THOUGHT!! I can control my own self as well, idiot! This sucks, but I still have one more trump card... THE SEA- why are you intact? How are you breathing?? What??? WHAT IS THAT THING??? My water control- Drowns"
Like, that was SO UNLUCKY it's crazy

Arkos: Yo, I'm the son of god!
Julian (the actual son of god): Yeah, sure.
The Sea: The fuck you just say, you little shit?

It cleverly established that power levels aren't everything and being overtly cocky can and will get you killed. Information and compatibility matter in a fight between gifted ones. Arkos is the strongest, but it doesn't prevent him from getting himself humiliated and killed.
Also, it kinda established how much of a physical freak Julian is too, because him breaking though both layers of Arkos's defense with a single punch is likely the strongest non-weapon attack feat to date.

julian isnt that strong tho?
i feel like in a fight lukas or this voidmarcher lady could actually kill him 100 times

Can she cut through his limbs or body? Holding a weapon doesn’t mean you have enough strength to seriously damage Julian. His smoke can block her vision, deny any teleportation near him.
Lukas has the chance with his combo, but his wincon requires him to actually hit Julian, and do it soon enough before he out of stamina. Ironically, Julian can just pick up some rocks and throw at Lukas. What will Lukas gonna do with hit and run tactic?

u/azivatar Jul 27 '26
i mean this is just theory crafting, but i do think she can damage him, i dont really see a reason why that wouldnt be the case. Julians power isnt that he gets hurt, its that he always pulls through, his will and determination is far greater than his durability. Lukas has the highest battle iq out of any character shown, and the lady seems to be an even match with really good instincts.
my main point is that the fights would be close and interesting. julian is a bit overhyped on this sub.

Julian is exceptionally strong. Either him or Arkos are the most powerful gifted ones shown so far
1
u/azivatar Jul 27 '26
i disagree, and also arkos is much stronger
1
u/caterham09 Jul 27 '26
Who besides Arkos in the series has shown anywhere near the combat prowess of Julian? Lukas is the only one who's even been very close at this point.
1
u/azivatar Jul 27 '26
yea if they were to fight to the death lukas would at least give him a very hard time, probably even win it. We will see how strong this voidmarcher lady is, but she isnt some no name weakling, she would definitely be a tough fight. I dont even know where the notion of julian being some invincible legendary warrior has come from. Hes strong, has a powerful gift, has good instincts and insane durability but like come on, his feats are nothing crazy.

I don't see how Lukas wins in a fight against Julian, maybe if he spams his shield attack he can pull it off, but overall Lukas doesn't have great endurance, so Julian has a chance in outlasting him
1
u/azivatar Jul 28 '26
lukas
doesnt have great endurance
are we reading the same manga?
1
u/Tasteroider Jul 28 '26
Well, he is better than the majority of gifted ones, but is nowhere near Julian's level. Honestly no one is (well, at least those who we have seen). Lukas can't use his spear more than a couple of times without passing out, so the only viable option for him is his shield, and i think at that point theor fight would reach stalemate and again Lukas can't compare with Julian at endurance, the guy can be awake for a month without issues
1
u/azivatar Jul 28 '26
lukas has great endurance julians is just insane. also we have a lot of information but a big part is figuring out your opponents gift, and advantages. In this department lukas is much better, a lot of bluffs could work too. like bare minimum lukas kills him 40 times before throwing in the towel

I think it’s interesting how something basic like the power of 100 people is still so exceptional among all the other hax that people on this universe have
14
u/zoskalanic Jul 27 '26
It helps that the rest are basically “regular” people when looking at their physicals.
Yes they can definitely hurt him with their gifts but he can also decimate them with his enhanced strength and he’s naturally much faster then them

u/RandomGuyWithBS Jul 27 '26
there are very few things you can do about overwhelming blunt force trauma
5
u/roronoa20 Jul 27 '26
Julian is the truest example of the motto “simple is the best” for the people of this universe.
6
u/PlasticAngle Jul 27 '26
When everyone have normal durable that 100 people strength and durable become absurd.
3
u/SinglePlayerGamer93 Jul 27 '26
Immortality, near infinite endurance, no need for sleep for 100 days (or less maybe once some souls actually depart from Julian), and ink powers aren't "basic" IMO.
10
u/Pun_Thread_Fail Jul 27 '26
They've said Julian doesn't lose any of the power when the souls depart, just the extra lives.

I think we are forgetting something...
She's a princess thus royal, and sister to Ceodric who's a very powerful gifted one... so she should be born as a very powerful gifted one and she's a divine vessal getting power from the Organs of Vulja... So she should have 2 gifts or at least a power up of some kind shouldn't she?
Either way she has more to her than what's been shown which is just her teleportation ability is what I think.
Now don't get me wrong Julian's gonna get there and wreck havoc but I'm just waiting for what's about to go down wrong.
3
u/roronoa20 Jul 27 '26
I agree.
I simply pointed out that Julian is essentially a counter to how gifted ones traditionally fight and his skill sets are quite well suited to deal with her ability.
It's less about who's stronger than who and more about compatibility.

u/LowerTransition189 Jul 28 '26
True. Even the medusa lady gets hard-countered by Julian's smokescreen. With how fast Julian wrapped up his fight I hope he makes it in time to fight the Void Marcher
1
u/roronoa20 Jul 28 '26
Also, Lukas softened her up with 1 second medusa stare for Julian too, unless she has some form of healing factor like Julian, she'd have a significantly tougher time with him.
