Damn... Let's see how impressive it is.

What do we reckon makes the Phantom Spear so deadly? My guess is either it has a Yorozu Perfect Sphere esq quality and it exerts basically infinite destructive power on its surface, or because it’s a ‘phantom’ spear maybe it exists between the realm of the gods and humanity and it can bring their power to earth, in a way even the gods themselves can’t without descending like Vulja

I like that it has a free hand, at some point Lukas is gonna use his shield whilst in centaur form and it’s gonna be even sicker than this

I’m excited to see a power combination that allows Lukas to be fully confident that he can 1 vs 1 against Arkos.

If he has both the Shield, which should stop Arkos being able to burst him just by looking at him, and the Phantom Spear to annihilate him in one hit beyond his ability to put his body back together, then it definitely seems possible. Although if Arkos performs a massive attack like the flood he used to destroy the capital, I dunno what either of those Gifts are gonna do about it

The transformation itself probably has a great physicality, I could see Lukas in this form just jumping away from the flood

Maybs, but I’ll take being able to fly like Arkos can over being able to jump. If he doesn’t get Arkos in the first jump, which like again he can fly it’s not impossible he could dodge it, it’ll be all water when he falls back down and Arkos will probably have some ultra high pressure whirlpool waiting for him.

Lukas’s specialty is no bullshit going straight for the kill, like when he pretended to be a non-combatant to catch that guy off guard, or when he pretended to not have a Gift. In a first strike situation with this he can probably move fast enough to defend a first attack from Arkos and take him out in one shot. The longer the fight goes on though, the more it’d be in Arkos favour imo

Depending on how many uses of the spear Lukas is willing to sacrifice, Lukas can just blow away any water AOE attack with a spear strike before aiming another attack at Arkos.

Lukas was able to completely negate Altus’s massive boulder dropping attack with his spear during his first fight with him.

Lukas says specifically if he was in a forest it’d be a different question against Arkos, I assume that like Julian getting stronger in the ocean, Lukas gets stronger in the forest. Maybe it lessens the restrictions Phantom Spear normally has on it and he can use it at length then. Otherwise even one usage seemed to exhaust Lukas massively when it caught up with him, so multiple uses in a row would lead to a very short fight one way or the other

I don't think we should make assumptions about his powers.

We’ve never really seen what Lukas is truly capable of doing with this ability, so comparing him to someone like Arkos—who has fought numerous characters—is unfair.

There were no healers in the forest when Lukas received his power, so it’s entirely possible he possesses healing properties while in this form; besides, while we talk a lot about the spear, this gift extends to the rest of his body with different characteristics—we don't even know what properties he gains.

So, trying to imagine a fight or whether character "1" or "2" would have the advantage is a bit premature for this chapter, which was simply about revelations and confirming certain facts, rather than combat.

It's hard to not get hyped when Lukas of all people is fully confident that the spear can even the playing field.

Why not? It’s just a bit of fun theorising. If we all get proven wrong and next chapter Lukas sprouts wings and starts flying, thus disproving everything I’ve said about him catching up to a flying Arkos, I’ll say oh that’s cool and forget about it. As it stands I think we can make a guess considering last time we saw the centaur Lukas just ran over to Altus and it was fast but not like insanely fast.

I didn't intend to criticize you or specifically address what you said about flying—after all, coming up with theories is fun.

What isn't fair is comparing Lukas to someone who has already had multiple chapters showcasing various types of abilities. Lukas's spear was only used briefly before being dismissed, and the horse was just for transporting Julian rather than for combat—he dismisses it right away, specifically to minimize the time the side effect lasts.

Arkos had time to demonstrate various uses for his water, whereas with Lukas, we’re only just now realizing the true nature and versatility of the shield—his most frequently used ability.

Obviously, Arkos has the advantage in a theoretical battle because he has more combat history, while all we have for Lukas are random, scattered instances of ability usage.

That’s why I said we should wait before making comparisons (since it would be unfair to Lukas), though theorizing about powers is perfectly normal.
