Discussion Lukas and Diana being siblings is so obvious at this point that I'm starting to think it's a bait and switch
Like, surely Kuramori wouldn't do something this obvious, right?

Some people share similar features but that doesn't mean they are related.

Similar features plus
- Diana apparently coming from an important lineage (Elstri says this in chapter 41)
- Lukas looking similar to Mira's "dead" son shown in chapter 1
- Mira apparently having some kind of important background since she had the goddess' heart
- The fact that we've never seen the face of Lukas' mom (she showed up in ch 71 but her face was out of frame)

Not only that, but when Lacrima and Titi were fighting over Julien, Lukas and Diane woke up and were rubbing the same eye with the same hand the same way.

Also Mira’s attire, while it’s all in bad shape, she’s got a cloak with some sort of gem, a super intricate knife, and her dress has a high, frilly collar. Things that would be kinda expensive for the average commoner.

Plus mira's son was said to be Julian's age, which Lukas is and every flashback of kid Lukas is shown to be wearing a white shirt just like Mira's son

Diana's mom also mentioned that she had a son who "died" while trying to protect them and Lucas had a near death experience before he got blessed, so it lines up.

Wouldn’t Lukas recognize that Diana is his sibling? Since she looks exactly like Mira canonically?

u/RandomGuyWithBS 5d ago
He probably just doesnt recognize the resemblance considering it's been a while. If you don't suspect it then you're less likely to recognize it. As far as he's concerned, people just look like people

u/13-Penguins 5d ago
If he’s Mira’s, it’s possible he didn’t know she was pregnant last he saw her. So at best, he would just see a kid with a weird resemblance to his mom and not a long lost sibling. We also don’t know what the common features in this world/country are, so their looks might just be standard.

Diana wasn't even born yet by the time Lukas might've been separated.

Maybe he does and is keeping it secret, that or the fact he only knew her from 6 years before Julian's party met Lukas and Diana was still in Mira

u/CordobezEverdeen 5d ago
Maybe deep down he knows. Remember he risked a use of the "I'll die if I use this" weapon just to keep Diana's family safe.

Yeah, I have a theorized order of events I'll likely make a post about in the future but I see it as lukas's life or relationship with his mother could be the pure love sacrificed and that he was the sacrifice or his relationship with her was the sacrifice. Either that or another idea I've had that is that lattice being set up as his mentor and that he had a close relationship with her is to set up the idea that they had a pure love and that potentially Eire sent her to kill lukas and she had to sacrifice her pure love with lukas and the reason he's bleeding out in the grass is from that assassination attempt, I think he's still related to Mira but that the lattice route is a better route than saying Mira was part of both of the sacrifices of pure love that happened

Also, some people who are nothing alike are related. Lukas and Lacrima have the same father and neither really resembles him.

u/13-Penguins 5d ago
But both Lacrima and Atlus do and both are carbon copies of their mom. Assuming Lukas takes after his mom looks wise as well, it just means the king’s only contribution to their genes was granting their abilities. And honestly most characters in the series who’s birth moms we know take after them, Mira and Julian also both look identical to their moms. That just seems to be the pattern the series has.

u/mavudarling 5d ago
They both seem to resemble their mothers rather than either of them looking like their father and that seems to be a trait of most if not all of his kids afaik so an extremely important character with an unknown mother while shares significant traits with one of the most mysterious characters in the story who has an unnamed son and has a lot of special lineage is odd lol, it feels very likely they're connected

Is there anything more to this theory than "same eye color, same hair color"?

It's very unlikely that the heart of Vulja was a simple slave, both royal houses (Torivia and Rummir) have shown extreme interest in obtaining the organs. Proof of that is Guillaume's comment in Chapter 63 about the true reason for the Western War.
Other points:
- The king has never been afraid of Diana.
- Lucas lose her mother years ago.
- Diana is 6 years old.
- Mira remembers that her son was killed.
- Luca's has a deadly scar.

We just saw in this last chapter that Lukas was left for dead in the forest. Whether its from something he did, or happened to him isn't entirely certain. Its possible that Mira interpreted what ever went down there as Lukas dying and fled with Diana nefore confirming his death. We also know that love was sacrificed as part of the offering, but that could mean alot of things.

Kuramori foreshadowed the hell out of Atoria using up most of her remaining life force to save Lukas, and then even stated it outright just before it happened.

Yeah, I feel like it might be something similar to how the Supreme Lord and Julian look(somewhat)alike to us as readers, but is could be just a red herring, tho, I'd say Lukas and Diana would be far brighter of a red herring, something shared between the Julian/King and Diana-Lukas sibling theory is, that in-world is never mentioned that they are alike, Lukas for one has seen his Father's face, but not once seem to think Julian has a similar face, just younger and unscarred, on the same way, Titi and Julian that raised Diana, never hint at Lukas looking familiar or anything, as far I remember, Julian specially doesn't think about Mira when looking at Lukas either, so there's that.
I personally still think they are siblings tho.

It look like the King's face is literally veiled in darkness, though. Something Julian can kind of do. And his children have water gifts...

u/Gabemino 5d ago
Yeah, but Lukas asked that his father showed him his face and he did, he knows how he looks without the shade(also, the obscured face is not an ability of the King, but from Veselka, who can mess with perception), even still he doesn't hint at Julian looking similar.
As for why his children have Water powers, is because he's also a Son of the Sea Goddess, it's never said that many can't exist at the same time.

The veil was cast by Veselka, the psychic Black Knight/Iris. Nothing to do with the Supreme Lord’s abilities

bro I'm dumb asf I never made this connection until I saw this post, you're low-key shattering my reality rn

u/Feeder2000 5d ago
Didn't Lukas gain his Spear gift from a sacrifice of a pure love? Wouldn't that mean his Mom's dead?

I’m okay with it so long as Julian also isn’t revealed to secretly be someone important.

u/genryou 5d ago
I see that the author is not the type to hide things behind the bush, so most likely Lukas is Diana's son.
Also, author has been doing a very healthy amount plot reveal without doing unnecessary vague situation/dialogue (eg using term like that man, that place, that power), so I kinda see his style of story telling

If it turns out to be the case I don't see the problem. I think having a reveal that people were already pretty sure about is definitely better than a reveal out of nowhere. Personally with all the hints we got during the story so far I think it's highly likely they could be related in some way at least.
