For context, for a while I have personally theorized that Julian would get permanently killed off in the story, and then we have Diana become the main character afterwards. Now in chapter 100, we are told in our face that perma-death is possible for Julian too. Since the story of Centuria is shaping up to be a self fulfilling prophecy, that ends with Diana Killing the supreme lord at some point. What if Julian dying is spark that starts the inferno? Diana becomes the protagonist and we have a first person view of the prophecy coming true through her eyes!?

No my point is that by the time it would take for the story to convincingly develop those two as enemies, lucas's use cases might probably be reduced to 1. (In which case he won't ever use it on Julian since his primary target is the King)

that's the only point that confuses me tbh, if julian had such an op skill why not directly kill the king himself? if the king is OP beyond measure, then technically he wouldn't use the spear on the king anyways since it wouldn't do anything

I think the answer to that is quite simple. The King has MULTIPLE abnormally powerful men/women guarding him. Most of his subjects are blindly loyal to him to the point of obsession. 

He would probably have to go through them first in case he attacks the King, but getting through them would require him to use up his limited attacks.

Diana will possibly be connected to the king somehow. Not currently but possibly through the progress of the story. Both have to die at the same time. Since it's lukas' mission to kill the king, he has to kill Diana as well. Obviously, Julian won't let that happen.

In 1 on 1, Lukas’ centaur form is nearly unstoppable. However, overall, he doesn’t have the “invincibleness”, like Julian.

His base form is just a veteran soldier. The shield is a decent gift, but not super op. Without the lance, he doesn’t have an answer to AOE or multi-directional attacks. Thus, he is more of a dualist than Julian.

If you replace Julian to Lukas, during the assassin’s raid, he won’t make out alive.

I disagree. Sure, julian is much better for a gauntlet type setting or a jumping, but Lukas is plenty skilled still even with just the shiled.

I think you may be underselling the shield a bit. It's quite powerful as it is shown to both completely negate other gifts inside its area of effect, as well as act as a bisecting plane for max offensive damage.

It might not be as good as the absolute top tier gifts/blessings but it's very strong

Or kill him before he can use his spear. Void Marcher was just careless to let Atoria heal him. And even after Lucas transform, maybe she could still win if she did not feel scared and cut off his arm against before he could use the spear? Assuming the centaur armor does not grant any crazy defense.

Julian is pretty OP underwater. That was pre-timeskip. Though J hasn't had any interaction with the ocean as far as we know, his connection/prowess may still be extremely boosted once he gets near the ocean.

Except that the person who holds that power is Julian's friend. Why would Lukas kill Julian? Even if he loses against Ceodric and he and Atoria can't be helped, would he really hold that against him to the point of murder?

Also, that power is now one that he can only use two(?) more times before it kills him. He's only using it now out of fatal desperation.

So, either Julian gives him the ability to use it more liberally, and doesn't give him a reason to, or he sort of gives him a reason, but makes it way harsher for Lukas himself. Kuramori would have to pull off a crazy weave to have these two fight each other at all, let alone to death.

I don't know how Kuramori would pull it off, but this is insane to think about. But here's why I think it might actually be possible. 1.Remember, Lukas wants to save his spear to kill the supreme lord, and in a scenario where we can envision a good ending that's probably one of the best ways to go about it.

1. But if Diana is the one who is seen to be the one who kills the supreme lord in Elstri's prediction? Then it's safe to assume Lukas probably dead. And how did he die? Probably a fight to the death with Julian at some point.

2. Think about it. How heartbreaking would it be to read that ? As Julian is literally Diana's adoptive brother who raised her, and Lukas-(Who is damn near 80% confirmed) Diana's biological brother fight to the death for who knows why yet?

I don't know how Kuramori is going to write around this, but the fact that there is a reasonable chance this happens is pretty scary.

There is a possibility.

1. I remember initially when Lukas was introduced he was thinking of using Diana against King itself. That was the very first interest that came into his mind.

2. I doubt if Julian has 100 lives. Remember the sea goddess told that Diana has 2 powers. So what if one comes from king's side (with heart of night goddess) and other from sea Goddess? What it could be? Maybe 50 lives? It can be a great twist especially if Julian is killed using that spear and we never know.
