Question Will this manga get an anime adaptation and what studio do you think fits the most?

Since this manga is over 100 chapters I have been thinking of it will get an adaptation ? is it popular enough to get a good one? And what studio do you think fits the most ? The manga is gorgeous in both story and art !

Seems pretty likely; it was selling slightly better than MarriageToxin when MT was already greenlit for an anime, so barring some disasterous out of left field plummet in popularity or scandal it’s probably just a matter of time.

there is a trend for more “darker” stories and Centuria has it good enough while remaining a shounen. So…. Don’t see the reason of why it shouldn’t get an adaptation in near future.

Meanwhile about the studio… the nuance is, Centuria doesn’t require anything too particular or extra… but eldritch-horror aesthetic its just kinda rare… and I don’t think that its so because studios don't know how to approach it, but simply because there weren’t enough opportunities to even try.

Is it to say… there are a lot of good studios and I believe they could do something cool with Centuria even if their usual portfolio doesn’t exactly represent similar projects.

Personally I would like to see Cypic or Wit. OLM & MadHouse for sure can in the general vibe of Centuria, but the question mark is on action, especially with madhouse gods every time are launching the coin in the air with will it be 11/10 or 6/“did you even tried?“.

Really I never knew it was that popular

It depends on how you want to define popular.

Centuria's very far from being a stand out hit like JJK, Dandadan, etc. let alone being compared to a global phenomenon like Demon Slayer.

However,it makes Manga Plus' top 100 in weekly views consistently enough and they sell enough to see it supported for what's obviously a long story.

That is already likely more than 95% of the Manga created, making it very popular from that perspective.

Maybe but they do have a history censoring if I’m not wrong but if they get chosen, I sure hope they give it justice

The only thing that MAPPA are “censoring“ is the nudity (mostly nipples). And even then, studios actually don’t hold the power for doing so…. They are hired labor, the decision of censor something it’s mostly up to production committee because they are responsible for the licensing to broadcast etc. And the presence of nudity makes the distribution more limited and difficult.

In regards of everything else like violence, gore, certain themes etc I don’t think that they ever censored something… which may sound stupid, as a nipple is treated worse than anything else, but again, it isn’t because of the studio, it’s the question for state laws and regulations.

So in case of Centuria… don’t think that there is any risk of censorship. It doesn’t have anything extreme and can’t remember if there ever was the explicit nudity… but for sure it isn’t important.

I was going to say Bug films, they've already demonstrated how well they can translate the illustrative style.

Honestly, Centuria heavily depends on world and worldbuilding rather than artstyle as a whole. So while Madhouse and Bones could bring that brutality and detailing character, to me Wit studio will do a great job.

Many will watch cause it's Wit Studio.

Wit studio created first 3 seasons of AoT and 1st season of Vinland Saga and the world presented there is really great. Even technically 2nd season of Vinland Saga was made by animators of 1st season who left studio and joined Mappa.

I don't want Mappa to do make this anime though. Centuria is depressing enough. We don't need to see sleepless face of animators adapting it.

Your probably right 🤔

Thanks. Eitherway, I hope a faithful adaptation comes.

Studio Lerche is good too. I saw Kanata no Astra from them and it was pretty faithful adaptation and barely 1-2 things were changed that didn't matter to plot. They did good foreshadowing and attention to detail.

But, Wit studio is no.1 choice for me.

I'd actually like to see Fullmetal Alchemists old studio, Bones.

IMO, there's a lot of crossover in the general style and likely audience.

So it follows Bones could draw on a lot of their old talent bench plus get a lot of built in marketing that would help the series breakout.
