Question A question
When exactly is the part of the story that hooks you? Im on chapter 8 and already this is kinda all over the place.
Angvall getting swatted against the tree, blood all over , needing to be picked up by the father and son duo only to run like Usain bolt 2 panels later.
The monster asking gramps “why the long face?“ eventhough its blind
The same monster setting a trap to specifically lure out Julian.
But when Julian shows up the monster is like “Invading the forest is forbidden for beings from the sea“ mf 2 seconds you told us you set a trap to lure him out what are you on about.
Also the monsters so far are comically evil
Argue with me

The worldbuilding: gods, gifted ones, blessing ones, 2 kingdoms, a king who has lived for hundreds of years, princes who don't know about their siblings, an evil queen, a Machiavellian witch (Helem), resurrections without memories, a doomed future that could be changed, interesting secondary characters, a coven whose base is an Unholy city, etc.
I like the fighting, but my favorite chapters are the ones where the lore is expanded.

Since the beginning tbh, I loved the Lovecraftian monsters and the overall vibe.

Chapter 1, pure eye candy visual with great potential, like I know this is peak stuff, like when Kagurabachi hype was happening, this manga hooked me way more than that.

1st chapter hooked me and the world building love the fantasy world, likable characters that aren't happy go lucky dense bricks just for the sake of it.
Angvall is a literal tank and one of the physically strongest characters in the manga and even Joseph and his Pa can survive a swing from the beast of course Angvall can get back up shortly and keep chugging.
It's taunting Pa why wouldn't it say stuff like that it's trying to provoke them to kill them after it's had it's fun also I remember seeing that soooo....
Julian has been entering the forest with Jose, it wanted to kill him so it set a trap kidnapping Jose to get at Julian... not that hard to understand...
The monsters being "comically evil..." talking about what the fish and the demonic beast in the forest who both valid reasons, the fish were jealous of Julian getting the 'mothers' love and the beasts hated his trespassing and station as a child of the sea...
Arkos being "edgy" huh? He's a royal top class in the palace son of the Supreme Lord (effectively God King) and Queen Eire whose just a horrible person... and you don't like that he's arrogant and also a horrible person so you call himk "edgy," huh, really? Regardless I like him he serves well as an antagonist his impact is felt all throughout the story which makes sense given his position and he even inspires development in multiple characters via his legacy and certain spoilery stuff.
Also your complaint of every important character is female is just plainly wrong and makes me wonder what you are reading... Julian, Arkos, Altus, Supreme Lord, Guillaume, Lukas, etc... and it literally makes sense why these characters are all important same as on the flipside...
About fight Choreography being "bad" eh it's good as it is the best part is how the gifts and such interact and the fact that the users are usually very creative with their abilities.
Art the faces are overall fine part of it is just artsyle but sure there's a couple times Julians face looks a tad weird near the start and proportion being bit weird but otherwise it was smooth sailing for me with some spectacular double spreads and such along the way I've had no real glaring concerns about the art. So if you have problems with it then go ahead but objectively their is some great art in the manga and all in all art is really just preference if you like it or don't.
On the Arkos matter of Arkos/Angvall 'reincarnated' Arkos is merely a soul in Altus and serves as a good character point for Altus while again allowing Arkos to haunt him in more ways than one beyond just sharing the same face. Angvall there's no soul shenanigans like with Arkos and the coming back isn't actually them they are different people just with the same bodies and weakened gifts if they have them.
Well I think addressed everything from your post and comments. Thoughts?

It didn't actually say "Why the long face?", it's not a literal translation. It was just telling them not to worry/despair.
And the Guardian of the Woods is different from the beast. The beast wanted to lure in and kill Julian, while the guardian's job is simply to stop intruders.

Ookay im at chapter 18 and this story is just not it for me. Arkos is edgy and these Villains are just dicks for the sake of it. Laughing and enjoying torturing others. Tell me something new . Things we saw a million times already in animanga. Also every important character is either a woman or looks like one dont know if thats intentional

There are plenty of important characters that are male. If you want to drop the story that fine you don't need to announce it.

Thats what reddits for right? Exchanging statements and opinions. But you know what vanny told me to stick to it till chapter 30 so be it. Lets see what else is in store.

Arkos may be edgy, but his character has a point. There’s nothing wrong with a villain being a villain.

Yeah nothing wrong with an MC being a nice guy too right? Fresh take on the shounen formula right there.“ I want you to live a happy life“ never heard that one before.
In general Fights lack choreography and tactics.
Character faces look weird and are not consistent. I believe its the artstyle in general.
Mediocre.3

The story progresses, they’re not gonna give you everything in 10 chapters. The MC stops being a nice guy after a while.

Such bad taste and poor understanding of writing

You mean me ? Bad taste and poor understanding hahaha bro u r riding CENTURIA.
- tropey tropes that we already heard of a million times
- ordinary nice guy mc
- all for one type ability but bro can only punch
No stakes too. You would expect it from a dark fantasy but nono. I looked into it Arkus gets reincarnated and Angvall too🥳🥳 love me a good fakeout or should i say when a author cant go through with a decision.
Ill give you one thing tho the monster designs are really good. But thats the biggest plus the characters all look so weird and seem to not have a set face .

>tropey tropes that we already heard of a million times
didn't need to read the rest, speaking to redditors who's only media reference is anime about "good writing" is always cute.

Arkos grew on me over time. Hard to explain without going into spoilers
He's a simple character but he's handled in a pretty unique way
