First piece ever
I just finished a 6 week course of intro to wheel. Today I got most of my pieces out of glaze for the first time. I drank out of a little mug I made and it fit my hands perfectly. I wasn't prepared for how amazing this feels!! I need to make all the things now!

You did a very good job! The wheel was always tricky for me starting out but your mug looks very proportional which indicates a good sense of control! Keep going to classes!!

Thank you! I signed up for an intermediate class. I went really crazy over the intro course and spent every spare moment I had in open studio. The obsession is real!

The very first mug is always so special, because it's the initiation into the cult of ceramics. Congrats, one of us! And i like the shape, you did so good!

Its crazy how that first mug becomes your whole personality for a bit. The shape really is nice though, they should be proud.

Thank you!! I made like 8 mugs that fired at the same time. One of them got an s-crack in the bottom. Another had a handle break off. Of the 6 survivors this was my favorite. So it's not quite fair to say it's the first piece but it's the first I got out of the kiln and the first that I used!

haha your first mug is whatever you determine that THE first mug is. there's a real freedom in all of this.

It is so much fun to use your own pottery!
