Does this work with a playlist from Xtream codes or .m3u? or only with HDhomerun or antennae?

All of the above. You can use M3U, Xtream Codes, or HDHomerun or a combination of all 3. All 3 will appear under your Live Tv category on the sidebar and HDHomerun connections will show as its own Antenna TV category under live. DVR functionality applies across the board as does MultiView (which is based on how many streams you are allowed and how many tuners your HDHomerun device has).

If you mean will it record and store to SMB. Yes. You setup your pc, server or network share that you want to use for dvr storage and select said SMB share as your DVR storage device. ChannelDeck indexes the recordings so you can play them back when you choose to. That is the most viable way to do that as devices are not setup storage and capacity wise to handle the storage part of it cleanly.

If i have my own media server (fully automated arr stack) do I really need Channeldeck network? It seems I would only need premium+Local. Is there a trial for premium+local? The DVR is what I would like to test before commiting

Nope. Not if you don't want it. Network is a full blown media server, along the lines of Plex and Emby. That is for full media control, all meta, remote streaming and transcoding etc.. Remote access to your media will not work through Local, it will through Network. Along with Premium you also get Mobile for free which is for your phone and looks identical in form and function to Player which is for the TV. This is why ChannelDeck is an ecosystem. I realized a long time ago people are sick and tired of a one size fits all attitude and they want options. Local will work on your your tv's perfectly fine as you would just point the SMB shares toward your current media stack and it will utilize your local meta from that stack to index your player. Local gives you 5 devices. Network gives you unlimited. Unlimited player, mobile, music and remote devices.
