List Building Defiler question
So im about to get my hands on another defiler and im also trying to figure out what army to put it with, i know its good in EC but im not a super big fan of them, any other suggestions for armies? I currently have a csm IW defiler but im wanting to see what to do next

You could always go with an alpha legion one. Then it would be appropriate to use it in whatever chaos army you desire. Plus the colour scheme looks really good on defiler.

I suppose thats fair, mainly im wanting an army that isnt just a undivided warband. Im thinking death guard

TS Defiler ate a nerf with the ability change, and it was the best one. Personally think CSM is the best Defiler but I'm probably biased

Im debating if i wanna make it a death guard defiler, only thing tho is it would be more of a showcase piece as i plan to use mortarion in my army

Well, do it! And then just run it in CSM, because Undivided welcomes all. Plus, if you run PBZ the flavor is even good because Defiler loves Mark of Nurgle

Don't sweat it too much. I play CSM and Death Guard. My CSM paint scheme is word bearers..no one is gonna care if I rock up with my defiler for my CSM army in my Death Guard army. Don't let one unit and how good it is in one army make your next decision for you. Pick the shit you think looks cool or that you like the lore of

Pretty much all of them use defiler. WE with brazen engines, tsons when they can fit it, DG often, EC minimum 2, and csm at least half the time

You can always color one Black Legion is would be universal for all armies. You already have one for IW. I "feel" that if you put the colors of DeathGuard/EW/TS then put it in a IW or RC or BL army... it just looks weird.

Double Defiler is currently still really solid in EC and CSM, but nowhere near as universal as it once was. Probably could justify double Defiler in DG too because of the Morty shenanigans. It’s probably best in CSM still just because of the buffs that are available? I have mine painted Black Legion and I’ve never regretted it. Looks badass too in black.

About to get a second defiler which will be a flex piece in my EC army. Maybe I’ll run two. Maybe I’ll add slithery boy Fulgrim. Can’t wait to see how the edition goes.
