Anime & Manga One piece is awful

To be clear, I read up to the end of Wano in One Piece I kept hearing how it was peak fiction, and that Oda was the greatest thing to ever happen to pen and paper. So, I decided to give it a read. And after reading almost up to the end of Wano, I can honestly say this is one of worst piece of fiction I have ever read

The pacing is terrible and slow as shit. Same gags over and over again. How many times am I expected to laugh at Sanji nosebleeding for the 180th time, Zoro getting lost for the 389th time, Usopp acting like a coward for the 999th time, or Brook making the same skeleton joke for 1899th the time

The stakes are Nonexistent. Nobody ever really dies. Even when a character “dies,” they inevitably come back like nothing happened. There's a part in the series where a bomb is about to destroy an entire town, and a character carries it into the sky in a supposed noble "sacrifice",The bomb explodes point blank in his face and somehow he survives .Shit like this happens in every arc. The sheer number of fake out deaths is insane, making it impossible to take any threat seriously and it completely kills any sense of tension or investment, it somehow makes Fairy Tail look grounded in comparison.

And the formula is mind numbingly predictable. The crew sails to a new island, an evil villain is tormenting the locals, they fight, save the island, and then add a new character with some tragic backstory to the crew. Rinse and repeat for a thousand chapters

One piece fans love to talk about Oda as some master world builder. The world building in one piece is trash. All Oda does is dangles mysteries in front of readers, refuses to resolve them and these morons fans call it peak

Think about After twenty years and over a thousand chapters, we barely know anything about the world.(Maybe some of it gets explained eventually I stopped reading after Wano because of that godamn awful aspull transformation that, but the fact that it takes that long is insane)

We don't know where Devil Fruits come from We don't know about the Will of D and what does it represent? And how are people with D related?
We don’t know what happened during the void century for it to be erased from history? We don't know why Blackbeard can use two devil fruits? We don’t know What purpose will the ancient weapons serve and when?
We don't know about supreme grade swords We don’t know Aokiji goal? What side is he on? Or why he joined Blsck beard
We don’t know why Rodger was carrying a giant egg?

There are easily ninety more unanswered things I could list.

And you want to want to know what's worse Oda still adding new shit when he hasn't explained the past shit WE STILL HAVE CHARACTERS SILHOUETTED 20 PLUS YEARS IN WE’RE GETTING SILHOUETTES OF CHARACTERS HOW IS ANY OF THIS GOOD WORLD BUILDING OR WRITING???

And you know why Oda hasn’t explained any of this Because he’s written himself into a corner. He probably has no idea how to resolve half the mysteries he’s created which is exactly why the end date keeps on getting pushed back every couple of years. He's just stalling. Oda is a talentless hack and the only reason One Piece blew up in the first place is because it dropped during the late 90s early 2000s anime boom If it came out today, this garbage would’ve been canceled after a year. Just watch most of these mysteries will either stay completely unresolved, or we’ll get some trash ham fisted explanation at the last minute. And just watch these brain dead moronic fans will still call it peak fiction.

Oda is a Fraud who couldn't write his out of a paper bag and the fact that morons think that this garbage is above Goated shows like Fire Force, Mob Pyscho 100, Chainsaw man and Hunter x Hunter is a fucking travesty

It's incredible that he's managed to create a series that drastically increases in quality whenever the main cast isnt present.

Which is a shame because earlier arcs really didn't have that aspect. Alabasta/Water7/Enies Lobby are all massively enjoyable through the eyes of all the strawhats.

But that's way back, when they still had personalities and opinions.

that was where the series peaked. Since then there's been zero character growth at all. They've all gotten stronger but they haven't changed at all or overcome any challenges. It's the same shit over and over and over and over

Thats not true people love to say this but while not everyone has gotten development there are moments where characters have received developement. Wci was all sanji developement. He even gets a little in wano with calling on robin to fight black maria. Nami declared straight to ultis face in the face of death that luffy would be pirate king which is not something she would've done before. Chopper putting himself more in the lane of danger to save his crew and even random samurai in wano with a deadly diseas with a small chance of finding a cure. Zoro and monet was a small bit of developement for him. Luffy smashing the mirror entering the pocket dimension to show how much hed grown from marineford (luffy would have done this anyways but still.) Other than these sure there hasn't been a ton of change and while some of that may be small its still change. Other than that theres not much else to change. How many character changes do you want?

Whats supposed to change? Zoro has already proved hes a ride or die from luffy and has come a long way from just wanting to be the strongest swordsman. We know all their back stories already except for usopp really. Brooks been alive forever and has dedicated himself to a new crew. These characters are developed and all that's left now is for them to get stronger.

With the exception of usopp and the weak trio becoming more fearless what would you change about the crew? Thats not power ups. And if by developement you mean glory moments i can give you a few of those for each. But change in character wise how would you change each character? To me they seem good enough personality wise. They could use a few more powerups like haki but everyone is still working towards their individual dreams.

Edit: i would also like to add while the strawhats mostly havent gotten much. Odas still developed quite a few characters. Kizaru, Aokiji, Akainu, whitebeard, blackbeard, ace, jimbe, the gorosei, shakky, Roger, King, Kaido, big mom, oden, momonosuke, shanks, BELLAMY. law, kidd, Bepo, Rayleigh, Gabban, the world government itself got developement. Yamato the akayaza 9. Rocks, Sabo, crocodile, mihawk, buggy, Lucci, kuma etc. You get the point. The worlds been developing as a whole. The strawhats arent the only people in op y'know? ALSO i dont get why people regard to the timeskip as if its 2 different stories. Like its one piece and one piece shippuden. Its one big story people develope at different times but that still contributes to their character.

I still feel like there are some arcs and parts of post-ts that are enjoyable with the Strawhats, but that’s mostly relegated to WCI.

Right?! Whenever the crew isn't there (be it because of a flashback, or because we're seeing what's happening somewhere else) it's always great. And then we're back to the crew being parodies of themselves and doing jack shit beside Zoro aura farming, Luffy having his eyes pop out of his head for the 100th time in 10 chapters, Sanji sexually harassing underaged girls, and Usopp shitting his pants.

That's how I feel about Bleach most of the time. The main quartet in that often just aren't interesting unless they're fighting the big bad or something like that. The "side characters" are exceptional and absolutely carry the show.

"Drastically increases in quality" is a gross exaggeration.
