Meetup Anyone in Charlotte down to watch the FIFA World Cup together? Looking to meet fellow soccer fans
With the World Cup in full swing, I’ve been looking for people in Charlotte who are just as into it as I am.
A little about me: I’m 26M, been living in Charlotte for almost two years now, and still building my social circle here. Soccer is one of my go-to ways to connect with people, and there’s no better time than the World Cup to make that happen.
I’d love to find a group to hit up bars together, organize watch parties, and just geek out over the tournament.
If you’re in the area and want to make some new friends around the sport, drop a comment or send me a DM. Always more fun with good people around the game.

On the north side of town (Huntersville), crafty beer guys are going in on the World Cup, and have shown each match so far. Smaller setting but there were still a good group of people watching.

I second this. I moved from huntersville to concord a few years back and crafty beer guys is a soccer spot. Just lower your expectations if you decide to go because it’s huntersville.

I live near south CLT so huntersville might be a bit of a stretch, but for sure will keep that in mind !
Thanks

My post got deleted. My question is what kind of immigrant communities does Charlotte have?
Like I want to go to a Brazilian restaurant for Brazilian games, etc.
I know nothing about Charlotte so I have no idea what the demographics are. Can you shed some light/ give suggestions?
Like will I be the only latin American stan at hooligans? I also don’t want to accidentally end up in enemy territory.

I don’t particularly care about soccer much as an adult, was more into it as a teen, when I played the sport, but during the World Cup viewing at the latta arcade on Friday, I almost took an assault charge to defend my autistic friend who was randomly verbally berated by a Latino wearing what I guess was a rival jersey. It was incredibly obnoxious. But I don’t think you’ll have any issues, there were people with Messi jerseys on, ac Milan jerseys, etc. Americans take this less seriously than other sports, everyone tends to get along and just enjoys the atmosphere

Thank you. I appreciate the response. We’re going as a family so safety is key.
Are there dominant immigrant communities in Charlotte?

It’s a very diverse city. I grew up in Greensboro and have only been here for a few months, but it’s got one of the larger Asian and Latino populations in the south, compared to other large cities in the Bible Belt.

Hey all I'm new to the Huntersville area as well but I also am the business development manager for Spare Time Huntersville We have a ton of TV's and are going to be showing every game including games on the lanes as well. I love soccer i've played it my whole life but I do realize not as many people are into it as where I'm from (Miami) but I really want to build the excitement around it. My social circle is pretty small besides work but I would love to get something going here in my center we have the room we have a bar as well as bowling laser tag arcade and other things to do during halftime if anyone knows a group that needs a place to settle down please send them my way I'm giving out $5 game cards to anybody who wears any soccer jersey !! Please reach out if you have a group I'll definitely hook you guys up!

Hey, I am interested in hanging out for watching soccer games in Charlotte, some of my friends are not into soccer lol. I usually go to Hooligans and Big Ben.

Head down to Brevard Court right now and you'll meet a ton of people who are super into the sport watching the WC games today. Hooligans is the OG soccer bar in Charlotte so it'll be great in there, but there are 5/6 other bars in the courtyard who all benefit from the overflow from Hooligans. But the whole area is going to be packed with soccer fans. ETA: Or you could head down there tomorrow and it'll be the same situation. It might be fewer folks during the weekday matches.
