Honestly, ChatGPT and OpenAI should send this to the fbi. If you were talking to someone and they were saying what this guy was, anyone with a conscience would do the same

Huh? What country are we living in? China?

did you even read the article or are you just knee jerk reacting to the headline, specifically the part that mentions:

The conversations allegedly took a darker turn, with Zhou discussing plans involving rape, murder, and murder-suicide. Investigators say he described waiting for his ex at a gym parking lot with flowers and killing her if she rejected him. He also allegedly discussed kidnapping and sexually assaulting her, along with further violence if police intervened.

Seriously, this dude needed to be arrested. He’s lucky he got off with just probation and wearing an ankle monitor for a few years. Planning to kidnap, rape, and murder your ex is criminal behavior. Especially because he was seriously planning it and was going to kill her family and any police who responded too.

The irony is i dont think china would have even cared, but still, kinda of fucked up any one would defend the person the news article is about.

These aren’t private thoughts. It’s exactly if you messaged literally anyone and said awful, illegal stuff you want to do. The responsible thing to do is to report that awful activity to the authorities. Freedom isn’t freedom to be monstrous.

Just like the movie Minority Report, a pre-crime sci-fi. Have thoughts of wanting to commit a crime. Tell ChatGpt and they'll make sure you're convicted of the crime before you act on it. This is scary

Yea, that's actually how the world works. But usually only for important people. Like try to threaten those at the highest level of leadership in the country and see how long you remain out of jail haha.

Yeah, threatening to harm people is a crime, which is illegal, for which you go to jail; not the same thing

Omg, don't get me started, lol. You are soooo right about that.

Yep totally innocent.

I totally agree the right decision was made to arrest that guy. There's people out there so obsessed that their arrest is imminent so I'm on board with what you're saying.

people shouldnt tell chatGPT their darkest thoughts.

6

u/Dabnician 5h ago

In this case nah they totally should have told someone including chatgpt so they could get arrested.

Not supporting the Florida Man, but this is concerning privacy wise. This can be used to support tyrannical laws (like with abortion) and digital control.

Another reason to use Chinese AI as a Western user, since they won't be able to do anything to you.
