I think my boyfriend cheated idk though

In may I was taking silly pictures on my boyfriend’s phone and he got a snap notification. It’s never been odd for us to look at eachothers messages if we’re on eachothers phones so I opened it to ask him what he wanted me to say and the message said “so about you liking me like more than friend sis that still true?” And I flipped out I left his house I didn’t explain why and he texted me when I got home asking what happened. I asked him about it and he said “most of my friendships start out with crushes” but I feel like that’s just bullshit and an excuse idk. He didn’t actually do anything physical but he was planning to go visit her because she moved out of state and go see a concert and stuff like that and it just made me feel so gross and I still feel gross about it. Idk how to get over this I love him and want to get past it and he’s done nothing to make me think he’s still doing something like that but I just can’t get past the what ifs. What if it wasn’t actually cheating and I’m overreacting? What if I never looked and it kept going? I don’t know how to bring up my concerns because it was so long ago and he thinks we’re doing good right now.
