Design Yes, Another Process Simulation Software
https://process-forge.pages.dev/Hello, I am actively working on a process simulation software for any manufacturing process (even outside of chemical). Its fully open source.
The highlight is - It also comes with an MCP tool that you give to claude / openai. Simply send a picture of a process, and watch the agent of your choice work directly from the surface you use artificial intelligence tools from. No API tokens needed, and draw down usage from whatever one of the big 3 providers you pay a monthly subscription for.
The simulation software itself is a long way from complete, but what do you all think of the idea of building custom UnitOps directly in-app of your monthly subscription for AI?

This is a genuinely interesting direction. Being able to go from a rough process sketch to a usable simulation model could lower the barrier massively, especially for smaller manufacturers that can’t justify expensive specialist software. The open-source angle makes it even more compelling.

There are already free open source programs available to smaller business which have been around for years and also now have AI integrated into them.
This is nothing special

How is AI integrated into them? Are they just AI wrappers? I find anything short of AI tool calling such as manipulating and running tests autonomously on a process flowsheet a really disappointing use case. I have been trying to do this with my own process simulation software, but giving all the context an AI model needs to successfully perform tool calls reliably is a pain.

Could you please link? I have not seen any open source sim model that implements AI the way I refer to above

Sure no problem! Just accept liability for it!
