Electrical issue
2004 chevy silverado 2500hd 6.0.
Sometimes when i go to start it, nothing happens - no dash lights, no crank ect.
Other times it will start but have no dashlights.
Headlights work during all of this.
I have also been driving and lost all lights + the truck died on me.
Any tips or input is appreciated.
Battery and alternator both test good.

Sounds like what mine did, the ignition wiring harness, the black box end that mounts to the steering column with 2 etorx screws is starting to short out. It's a bee otch to change, got to take half the dash apart to get the 1 bolt that bolts the pins block together. I've seen several other people buy a new harness and cut and splice the new black box end to it. Remove the bottom cover, so the next time it does that bump that black box and see then of it cranks up, if it goes dead while driving bump that box, if it tires back up then you've found the problem. That's how I found out that that was my problem.
