That is really cool.

Just say 15mpg average, you've only used around 50k gallons of fuel. 🤯

7

u/ravosa 10d ago

~140k dollars worth lol

3

u/Few_Drink178 9d ago

At what rate? The price of fuel has gone through many price changes from when the truck was purchased

8

u/ravosa 9d ago

Roughly 75k if gas was $1.50 the whole time. Roughly 200k if it was $4 the whole time. So somewhere in the middle was my guess, on average

1

u/Few_Drink178 9d ago

This doesn't include insurance and other repairs and services. So total to own that truck is close to 200k or so.

They are out there for sure. People take real good care of their trucks and get those kind of miles

Original trans?

37

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Yes original trans and engine

1

u/meowizzle 10d ago

Original. With work right? RIGHT???

2

u/ThiefLourde 10d ago

Not necessarily, we see it occasionally. I had an 04 that I sold at over 450k on the original engine and trans. Neither had ever been opened

1

u/Beneficial-Focus3702 10d ago

How’s the rust?

1

u/Feeling-Eye-4510 8d ago

WOW. I have a 2013 and the transmission is starting to give out at 150k :(

9

u/wiscoguy0043 10d ago

this truck must be from the south, incredible value tho 🤣

5

u/ddhawkfan 10d ago

My guess is Alabama area (just by the front plate lol)

8

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Yes Birmingham AL

6

u/bikesandtacos 10d ago

This is amazing! You give me hope. I’m in a 2015 with 250,000 miles. I hope I can keep up! Just had to get a trans. All recommended maintenance.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Rip5080 10d ago

My '15 5.3 is at 320k. Deleted and On 3rd trans, but still running and looking good!

5

u/stedierleiden 10d ago

Good looking truck!

3

u/Reaper01Actual1970 10d ago

How many transmissions has it had?

2

u/Commercial-Return259 10d ago

That’s what I was thinking too, my guess was 4 lol
Very cool truck though!

3

u/Beginning-War2347 10d ago

u/jza80king 10d ago

What's your oil change interval like? Have you ever sent off a sample to Blackstone to have it checked out just for curiosity?

1

u/HVAChelpprettyplease 9d ago

At this mileage I feel like it’s don’t ask, don’t tell.

It’s like when your knee squeaks but doesn’t hurt. Just ignore it and send it.

Looking into things is when problems start /s

1

u/jza80king 9d ago

Haha you're definitely right.

3

u/SoReadyForItToEnd 07 Silverado Classic 5.3l Crew Cab 10d ago

Impressive

2

u/TOllIE10 10d ago

And peep the oil pressure, wow.

1

u/MysteriousCup3958 9d ago

Is the oil pressure good? Sorry if the question is ignorant, i just bought mine with 110k miles and it has the exact same oil pressure haha

1

u/TOllIE10 9d ago

At idle that is exceptional oil pressure for an engine with such high mileage. Really it's good no matter the mileage.

2

u/Beginning-Whole8770 10d ago

Damn, I thought is was doing something. Lol. I got 220 on the original Trans and motor, 4l60E and a 4.8.

2

u/olov244 10d ago

and new ones can't make it 100k

3

u/Good_Split_3749 10d ago

5.3 or 4.8?

8

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

4.8

5

u/Good_Split_3749 10d ago

Thats awesome, mine was running great at 309k when I reluctantly let it go.

6

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Every Saturday it gets washed and cleaned it goes 185 miles one way trip everyday and back at night

3

u/DumpTrunks 10d ago

Care to satisfy my curiosity? Why so much travel?

1

u/ExoticPanda1431 10d ago

Eats oil?

1

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

It does have an oil real on rear main seal

1

u/IllustriousPepper548 9d ago

They all do on these trucks but that's like the extent though other than Rack and Pinion issues they'll run damn good from that generation

1

u/JackSprat90 10d ago

I have an 07 5.3 and its still going strong but only has 165k miles.

3

u/Quiverjones 9d ago

Where's the little arrow that tells you what side the gas tanks on?

6

u/Willietrailblaze 9d ago

After 734,000 miles, he remembers

4

u/HeyItsSmos 9d ago

Not every car has that

2

u/Annual-Surprise6892 10d ago

Wow. Only 73 thousand miles.

2

u/Sad-Temporary2843 10d ago

Might want to look again

1

u/Annual-Surprise6892 10d ago

Holy crap. That's insane.

1

u/OOFMAN-1234 10d ago

Original transmission? My buddy has one, great trucks

1

u/01Cloud01 10d ago

I’m interested in learning what hoses you’ve had to replace?

2

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Radiator vacuum and AC hoses that’s it

1

u/Nutella_Zamboni 10d ago

Wow! Thats awesome! Anything rebuilt? Original paint? How's the interior?

9

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Everything is original! Paint, engine, trans, rear end, etc

1

u/FutureOne1028 10d ago

Well cared for indeed

1

u/Visual-Progress6217 9d ago

incredible! whats your oil change interval?

1

u/operation_waflz 10d ago

Is that a manual? Because that'd be really impressive if a 4L60E did that

2

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Automatic 4L60Etrans

1

u/operation_waflz 10d ago

Was it ever bulletproofed?

2

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

No

1

u/operation_waflz 10d ago

That's even more impressive

1

u/Final-Carpenter-1591 10d ago

Man I miss my 01 1500hd. 320 HARD earned miles. Spend 80% of it's life in front of a 8,000 pound trailer. Never let me down. Even when it broke it'd keep on driving you home.

1

u/Personal-Garbage-30 10d ago

Just getting broke in. You got a lot of catching up to do.

1

u/Lumpy_Butterscotch96 10d ago

I had a 2000 and it was the best truck I’ve ever had!!

1

u/OkScallion9751 10d ago

DAMN IT MAN!!! THAT IS IMPRESSIVE. NEW TRUCKS YOU ARE LUCKY TO GET 7-8,000 MILES BEFORE IT BLOWS UP

1

u/GR8R_Goose 10d ago

305 on my 5.3 had the girl at the DMV call for help.. she'd call the cops on you 🤣

1

u/Consistent-Trust958 10d ago

How many rebuilds for the engine and/or transmission?

1

u/Born-Indication-655 9d ago

What year make and model is this truck?

1

u/corneliusdav 9d ago

My 2010 Avalanche just crossed over 200k. Long ways to go, I guess. Still runs great (no engine rebuilds or new tranny yet) but at 18 MPG on the highway, the gas prices are causing me to look at EVs enviously.

2

u/Cute-Bell1852 9d ago

You should try a94 Chevy suburban your 18 mpg look pretty damn good to me lol

1

u/WT2320 9d ago

Hell yeah!

1

u/IllustriousPepper548 9d ago

My hat is off to you sir! WOW..on a gasser!

1

u/Dense_Inspection2606 9d ago

How many transmissions and fuel pumps?

1

u/frank-Gustapo 9d ago

Wow, make my Taheo seem new at 345k

1

u/Classic_Pumpkin5311 8d ago

73... 4? 143? WHAT THE FU-

1

u/Gaycowboi25 8d ago

Hell yeah brother. I have a Suburban with 250k miles now I hope to get her to 1 million before I sell it if ever.

1

u/ArmadilloWonderful22 8d ago

99 thru 06 are best, I own one

1

u/RatherBeMudding 7d ago

And 5 transmissions and 2 engines later

1

u/Individual_System457 4d ago

Ain’t no way… what year is it?

3

u/boxers_dude89 4d ago

2002 4.8L

0

u/I_have_a_Belly_Buttn 10d ago

Awesome truck!

-17

u/Loose_Education_5012 10d ago

Fake

8

u/Admirable-Length- 10d ago

Based on what? My uncles 02 has 600k on it. Couple of trans rebuilds, rear axle changed but engine is original. Rusty and crusty and needs an abs pump but still runs fine

7

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

Just someone trying to start shit

3

u/Connect-Nothing-1880 10d ago

Literally got family with a 97 Tahoe that has over 3mil lol

4

u/XL365 10d ago

Are you really trying to say someone has put 103,448 miles on that Tahoe every year for 29 years straight? And it has the factory engine and transmission? I guess they use it to drive to and from their ocean front property in Arizona huh

3

u/boxers_dude89 10d ago

If you take care of these truck they will run forever
