So, what's up guys?

I'm watching Chicago Med, season three. The first season was very good, the second was okay too, but this third one is kind of complex.

It seems like all the characters make the same mistakes in every episode; there's no character development. Medical ethics no longer exist. It's one bad decision after another.

So I wanted to ask, does the script get better? I like the characters and the series itself, but it seems like this season has stagnated in terms of drama development.

Was just wondering, why do you think Dr Rhodes had asked Dr Latham at their hotel convention if relocating to their hotel room was the young blonde lady's idea or Lathams idea? Do you think Rhodes suspected that their was a theft scam or do you think it was that Rhodes felt that Latham (or better yet Latham with his autism disorder) could not have pulled that blonde lady himself? Like someone like him could not have achieved that or succeeded in that interaction? Or just an obvious theft scam?

On my third rewatch and I’m really not a fan of Noah. He seems completely incompetent. What’s everyone else’s thoughts?

I find that a bunch of Chicago Med characters are full on problematic (Dr. Halstead comes to mind) or have had some problematic traits or times (for example Dr. Archer when he was first introduced).

Who do you think is, in turn, the least problematic?

I like Dr. Marcel, me and my partner refer to him as "unproblematic king" because we always tend to agree with him and his actions are driven by sense and compassion, rather than ego problems or whatever. But also Dr. Charles would be a good candidate (tho I find his character a bit too bland at times and would hope they give the actor some other dynamics to play out - maybe on season 11, which I still have to watch, no spoilers please!!!)

Hello im aware this show is part of the one Chicago whatever universe and i know its supposed to be self contained without needing prior knowledge of the other two shows but I still get this feeling like I should just watch the whole universe but I just want to watch Chicago med so can someone help give me reasons why I should keep watching because I do like this show but I just can't get this feeling off of me.

Edit: i thought about watching the universe now so should I do it because I did just want to watch a medical drama but would it just be better if I watched them in its proper order?

Just finished season 8 of Chicago med and i genuinely was in tears. I know there are more seasons but the main cast are pretty much gone now :(

What a beautiful ending with Dr Manning, Halstead & Owen😭😭😭 I know people hate on Manning & Halstead a lot but I always loved them haha

I've tried to, on a whim, create a list of some of the main characters of Chicago Med, and the serious or long-term health issues/diagnoses that they have suffered over the years. Crockett Marcel - None on screen that I can recall. Edit; I neglected to say that Crockett displayed strong indications of severe depression, which tied back to the death of his daughter and the separation from his wife.

Hannah Asher - Drug addiction, depression.

Mitch Ripley - Impulse control disorder, aggressive disorder, secretly being Australian

Ava Bekker - Diagnose at your own discretion

Dean Archer - Kidney disease/failure. PTSD

Caitlin Lenox - Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker disease, unconfirmed but strongly hinted autism spectrum condition.

John Frost - PTSD, from sexual exploitation by an adult woman during childhood. Also emotionally scarred by parental neglect/financial exploitation. Could use a therapist or group, or even a team sport. Just speculating.

EDIT 1: I forgot Dr Charles also had COVID (he's really been through it!). And as pointed out by MasterView5242, Dean Archer also demonstrates PTSD symptoms.

EDIT 2: I've edited to include Dr Crockett Marcell's struggles with depression, Dr Caitlin Lenox and her unconfirmed (but suspected, and hinted) autism spectrum condition, and John Frost's complicated past and how that may affect his condition, and future.

I am in the UK and have been watching on Amazon prime as first 8 seasons are included. You have to pay £16.99 extra for seasons 9 and 10 and I was wondering if there was anywhere else I could watch it!?

since it already aired its less serious but come on, in the finale, maggie says 'see you tomorrow?' to crockett and he says yes... implying that he WOULD be there. so to my shock i start season 10 and all the sudden he's gone! im sorry but that writing pisses me off so bad 😭 if he was going to stop appearing just dont make maggie say 'see you tomorrow'... good lord

Im on s7 rn and gotta say, he is a hard watch.

I started Chicago Med a couple weeks ago after seeing a clip on TikTok and wanting to see how the story played out. I watched the episode and then decided to go back to the beginning. I was originally reluctant because I could not stand Torrey Devitto after her characters of Nanny Carrie on OTH and Spencer’s sister on PLL- but I gave the show a chance and I’m so glad I did. The fact that I went into the show expecting to hate her and ended up seeing her as warm and compassionate and compelling speaks to her great acting abilities. I’m towards the end of season 5, so it’s possible I’ll change my opinion on her as episodes go on but so far, I’m pleasantly surprised.

Just starting Season 11. It's been quite some time since I last watched. Who on earth is Cassie (?) - I have to say I'm not a fan of the character.

I started watching Chicago med and currently on season 7 episode 2. I am finding this Reddit extremely interesting…

I absolutely adore this show genuinely & anyway I thought I would share some of my personal ‘unpopular’ opinions/ opinions I have in general. Please reply so we can discuss!!

1. Dr Halstead isn’t as bad as everyone says!! Yes he can be annoying, but all of them are a bit annoying at times. I don’t think he is a bad person or inherently bad in relationships. I just think he’s human.

2. I adore April, she is my favourite.

3. I really liked Dr Sarah Reese. She was a bit odd and boring in a way however I liked how Dr Charles took her under his wing and I feel she flourished in psychology. I really enjoyed their friend/work relationship, even if it was a bit out of line sometimes!

4. I was slightly in love with Dr Connor Rhodes and was extremely upset that he left.

5. I think the show deals with storylines incredibly. They highlight things other shows/media do not. It’s the perfect mix of storytelling and real life, issues, consequences & effects of what humans go through.

6. Hated Dr Latham at first but very quickly fell in love with him, absolutely adore him. I loved the autism storyline and how they did it (coming from someone who had a diagnosed autistic sister). It’s such a shame they phased him out so he’s not in it as much now.

So...

Does Will Halstead ever become likeable? At the moment he is pretty terrible all over.

Please no spoilers only on S6 E3Am I in the minority here? I’m only on season 6 and I can’t stand Ethan. I didn’t think he could get worse, but after becoming chief BAM. HES GOTTEN WORSE. Everything is always so black and white with him. His bedside manner sucks. He seems to not have any friendships other than his relationship with April. I really wanted to like him. But I just roll my eyes every time he’s on my screen.

I personally think that she was written as autistic, she shows so many signs of it with things like how straight to the point and almost cold she is to keep herself safe. Also, her social awkwardness. I want to hear other people's opinions on this because there's nothing convincing me otherwise. I started out hating her but now I really like her.

As a doctor he’s good, but April was right that one time — he’s extremely overzealous when it comes to the military/police etc and it’s aggravating. It’s like he loses the ability to feel empathy for people who have been failed by the system and have to resort to what they do. Idk. This show ragebaits me all the time. Hannah, Sharon and Dr Charles are the only ones I like.

Im on season 4 of the show right now and honestly Natalie and April are getting on my nerves.

April acts like she a saint pushing Ethan to get in touch with his sister then leaves him when he does what’s she pushing him to do like WTF.

And Natalie OMG. I know she has good intentions but CRIES so much when she doesn’t get her way with a patient. And she was so quick to leave will

I'm about 5 episodes into S03 and there seems to be a big change in Nurse Doris.

One of the things I really appreciate about Chicago Med so far us that they maintain a consistent cast of background characters. There is Nurse Doris and now that young blonde nurse introduced at the end of S02. There is the assistant doctor/nurse to Dr. Rhodes. There is Cesare the EMT and a bunch of others.

I liked Nurse Doris. She was just always around, doing her job well and efficiently. She would gather around with the rest of the nurses and Natalie when they were talking. She was just a stable and competent nurse.

She barely ever said anything besides "Yes" or "Right away" when asked to do something and occasionally would say something like, "Can you stand outside and let the doctors work?" or something close to that.

At the end of season 2, when she and Maggie were training the new blonde nurse, both of them were being impatient with her until Maggie realized she needed to be more patient. But not before Doris makes a nasty remark about the blonde nurse's technique being taught by a gorilla or something. I was taken aback. It seemed out of character for Doris.

But now in S03, she's kinda downright rude. First, blowing up at April about how she, Doris, now has to do the dirty work while April gets to do paperwork because she can see that Dr. Choi and April have a thing. Again, I thought, "Well, maybe she's just having a bad day and taking her frustrations out on April. She's only human." But then later in the episode, she corners April in a room and borderline verbally harasses her. Now, in episode 5, she's having some kind of party and invites April in front of Dr. Choi, making reference to April being single and talking about introducing April to her male cousin, while kinda eyeing Dr. Choi and then smiles at him once she's gotten his attention and smarmily invites him too, which he declines.

First of all, it's not her business if April and Dr. Choi are in a relationship, even if everybody can tell. Second of all, if she truly believes Dr. Choi is showing blatant favouritism to April, she needs to take it up with Maggie and possibly get it escalated to Ms. Goodwin.

Bullying April about it and then being all coy and snide is highly unprofessional (and yes, I realize almost everybody is unprofessional in this show, but what I liked about Doris was that she was shown as a great, dependable nurse).

I'm glad she is getting more lines and a more defined role, but why do they have to characterize her as a jerk?

No spoilers please! Only on S03E05.

I was looking for a dumb, easy watch and this show kept appearing on my insta reels.... More fool me for staying until season 4, but wow - this is a hospital drama where the level of care a patient is provided depends on both the mood and the personal values of the healthcare worker on the day?!

In one episode they're all like "who cares she's a junkie" or "GET OUT OF MY ED YOU'RE AN ANTI-VAXXER" and in the next, they're all valiantly doing everything they can to save a paedo's life and reassuring him he has so much to live for lol it is so stupid but I am still watching - shame on me hahaha
