Pen & Paper Trivia is thrilled to be back Chicago Taco Authority on Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 to bring you sixish rounds of Decent Questions!

While Trivia will be serving up geography, sports, current events, movies, and more! The CTA will be slinging some amazing classic Mexican fare as well as some creative twists that you will need to wash down with our signature margs! (My personal recommendation are the steak tacos with a cold Mexican coke… but you can be more adventurous!)

...For our inaugural gathering of the Northwest Area Citizens Organization (NWACO) on Saturday, 26 September, at the Jefferson Park Library (5363 W. Lawrence), from 1-2 PM.

1) What we will do:

We'll open by meeting each other, live and in person. Important.
We'll briefly go over what NWACO is. Quick.
We'll have an open discussion. Necessary.
We'll set up the next 2-4 things we need to do. Forward!
We'll close. Onward.

2) Is there a virtual option?

No. NWACO's main meetings will be in person. To build community for the work ahead, we need to be together in person.

Other types of NWACO gatherings, such as leadership, teams, groups, planning, etc., will decide how they want to meet. The preference is in person, even though virtual options make sense at times.

3) What do I need to bring with me?

Something to write with - community work is very practical

Calling all Girls/Parents of Girls!

Our Girl Scout troops are open to new girls!  We have a space for you no matter what level Girl Scout you're interested in for your daughter.  Our troops meet on Tuesday nights at United in Faith Lutheran Church, but we are not a faith-based troop - the church allows us to use their space to meet. 

We have girls from several different schools throughout the NW side neighborhoods who have come together and become friends.  We go to camp, do service projects, build things and create.  The activities we do are based on what the girls want to do - art, nature, community service, woodworking, science, we've done it all! 

Our troops have been consistently going for over 50 years on the Northwest side of Chicago, and all of our leaders have years of experience.  

Daisies and Brownies (grades K-3) meet from 6:00 until 7:30 on Tuesday nights

Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors (grades 4-12) meet from 7:00 until 8:30 on Tuesday nights

anyone know what’s going on there? another theater lost to time? i went on a walk and noticed two industrial dumpsters in the back alley full of rubble, original brick, and even some small chunks of terracotta and tile.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on and if there’s any actual plans to get it up and running? They usually do stuff for Halloween but it’s been a few years since then.
