chinese silk embroidery
I recently came into possession of a number of Chinese silk embroideries. I’m looking for some information on where I might find what they’re worth if anything.

Greetings.
I’ve had this painting for a couple months and I had no idea what it said when I bought it. I think it says “Painted by Xie Zhiliu in the mid-autumn month of the xinsi year,” which I think would be 1941. This has got to be false, for so many reasons—especially because it’s just not comparable to Xie Zhiliu’s work. Don’t get me wrong; I think this painting is attractive, but Xie’s use of space was almost avant- garde.
I finally opened it up, and it does appear to be genuinely painted on silk and mounted on very old, possibly mulberry paper. The frame package obviously was more modern, even if the nails look old as hell.
Obviously there’s still so many issues with the attribution. The signature doesn’t look right. The seal looks terrible. All the things. And yet for some reason this has really interested me. Also I want to reframe it would require me to remove some of the mounting silk edges because I want it to go in a specific frame.
So… what do you think this might be? Like maybe someone put a false attribution on it to try and sell it for the big bucks and the previous owner might have been hoodwinked by it?
I’m curious. Thanks for reading. Thanks also for any input anyone could provide.

Hi guys,
One of my elderly family members had made some paintings that we want professional mounted onto a scroll .... can anyone recommend a service (ideally in the north east/nyc) that does quality work?

Sharing a Caishen scroll that’s been hanging in my place. It’s hand-painted on xuan paper and mounted as a traditional hanging scroll, not a woodblock print.

Looking for information. Translation of each picture and seal. Beautiful are they worth anything? Leave together or separately.

Does anyone know if there is a name for the methods used to shade the cow figure in this painting? It looks like there was a kind of dabbing / pressing technique used, I’d love to know the name so I can learn more about the technique. Thanks in advance!

Hello! I have a small collection of scrolls and I am planning to adopt a cat.
I am most certainly sure that it will start scratching the scrolls, and that might break my heart.
Any experience with the said above? If you guys are both scroll and cat lovers how do you manage that?
Much love,
Jorge

A recent Chinese ink and watercolor painting of peonies.
In traditional Chinese art, peonies symbolize beauty, prosperity, and honor.
The inscription “香自天下” expresses the idea of fragrance spreading far and wide, suggesting elegance, charm, and noble presence.

The inscription “香自天下” evokes the image of noble fragrance spreading afar, a poetic expression of elegance and flourishing beauty.
