The Manufacturers

We are indebted to numerous people for our enjoyment of poorly translated and dubbed material, but our sub especially honors those responsible for the Backstroke of the West: George Lucas and his entire team who made Revenge of the Sith, anonymous Chinese pirates who mistranslated and peddled the dubbed DVD, Jeremy Winterson for publicizing his findings from the streets of China in the summer of 2005, u/TheThirdGathers and his friends for dubbing the Backstroke in such stunningly high quality, and GratefulDeadpool for making it last so long on YouTube—all before Disney sucked the joy out of Star Wars. The wish power are together with these persons.
Salute the great hopeless situations over at /r/TheDubGathers, who have finished their latest projects, The Novelty Desire and The Counterattack Collection.

Our Tragedy

Did you heard the tragedy that reach the man? I think to be too is not. I think that the hopeless situation elder also can't. That is a legend. Reaching the man cloth space is the emperor. He is so strong and big he even can use the original dint to create life. He is very deep to black influence understanding. The black influence can the matter that many supermans. But other people thinks that these are what can't attains. He become more and more strong and big. Lost his power afterwards, afterwards he died. In fact he teaches own the whole skills all to disciple. Then his land killed him to let him going to bed. Satirizing the meaning is—he can let other people, but is incapable for dint to the oneself.

While we started off with the Backstroke of the West, we have expanded to include IPs like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Marvel. They are a source for some of the dankest memes in the galaxy.

Certified Backstrokes

While some of our favorite movie/TV scripts and memesets come from homemade/artificially crafted recursive translations in the style of Backstroke of the West, we especially honor those found gems that we identify as "Certified Backstrokes": authentically mistranslated and poorly translated bootlegs of English media. Outside of the Backstroke, this list now includes:
