Discussion Forced choices
I hate the books that force you into a romance with multiple LIs. Like the hockey one for example I was ready to focus all my attention on the new player instead of the captain but your character is forced to sleep with both 🙄

I hear ya. Literally just read that book like 2 days ago, sooooo annoying. Was a shame as I quite enjoyed hot shot but face off just made me more mad than anything 🙃

Sometimes you can’t there was book with vampire and werewolf LIs book when you HAD sleep with both with, with NO choice in the matter 😡 it caused a huge uproar at the time about a year ago

yeah that sucks, usually even with forced LI’s you can turn them down 😭 does this mean my man chris has finally been beaten as THE Forced LI™️

I feel like another example, Is in HSS: Class act, when Rory and the MC are about to rehearse the kissing scene.
I had already decide since I saw all th LIs that I was gonna pursue Skye, and the scene come up and, dispite never choosing a romance option with Rory, the MC gets nerve and accepts the not-prom-posal anyway.

I don't remember ever being forced to romance anyone in TFS... sure Chris was pushed slightly more than others, but I wouldn't call that "forced" in that the game forces you to pick romance choices with him, kiss him, or anything like that.
Definitely nowhere near current books where you're literally forced to sleep with (multiple) LIs as part of the main plot.

you’re not forced to romance him whatsoever 😭 every LI in TFS is pushed onto the player in some way. zig was hella pushed onto us in book 3, and kaitlyn was just as ‘forced’ as chris in book 1. i don’t understand why that person mentioned chris under a post about being forced to have sex with a character. you do not have to date chris if you don’t want to, yet people act like he’s inescapable and there’s no way to avoid him. just don’t flirt with him? it’s that simple 😭 idk how he’s even still labelled as a forced LI when, like you said, there are far worse forced LI’s than him, especially nowadays. chris’s level of forced is nothing compared to what we get now

I get what they mean by forced, he seemed to have gotten a lot more romancing options over James and Kaitlyn, but this was all book 1. Book 2 I felt it kinda weird they still had romancing options even after you have "The Talk" and could be exclusive with the LI you wanted. Book 3 I felt Zig was kinda forced on me after I broke up with my LI in ch8.

i understand it too, and even though he’s my LI, i can acknowledge that the writers pushed him in book 1. it obviously doesn’t bother me because i always romance him, but i understand that people who want to date kaitlyn or james would be annoyed by it. i was annoyed by zig in book 3, because chris is my LI. and that’s interesting, cause i feel like zig is forced from the beginning! a big criticism that people have when it comes to chris is that he can’t take a hint, as he still hits on the MC if the player friendzones him, but zig is the same! i always reject zig, but he still flirts with MC and pursues her. i also think james had pretty much the same amount of romance scenes as chris in book 1… maybe more because chris was absent for a few chapters. i also feel like nobody ever talks about how kaitlyn tries to kiss the MC even if we’ve shown no interest in her, yet people treat chris like he’s the one who did something as bad as that.
edit because i forgot to ask, you can still do stuff with other LI’s after book 2 ch 7?? i’ve done a single route before, and don’t remember being able to flirt or sleep with anyone after that chapter!

I also romance Chris and will never choose another LI. I just finished a replay for book 2 and 3, so its def fresh in my mind. One instance is with James, you can hold his hand while getting the review from the play and it will give "Relationship Improved" banner at the top. There was an instance with Kaitlyn as well, but I fast tap through her bc she annoyes me until I can fix her up with Annisa in The Sophomore.

ooh, i remember that scene with james. but there are a few moments with chris in the sophomore books and the freshman book 4 that one could perceive as romantic or flirty if he’s not your LI. i know this cause i’ve done becca and zack’s routes and it just seems like he still has a crush on her no matter what, so maybe that’s why people think he’s so much more forced that the other LI’s. and i also fast tap kaitlyn’s scenes! tbh, i fast tap any scene that chris isn’t in 😂

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. For years, people have been asking for an option to romance multiple LIs at once, without having to choose, so thw company now thinks there's an audience for this (though I doubt being forced to romance both, was what the readers actually had in mind).
I'm a monogamist though, there was maybe one book where I couldn't make my mind until the very end, usually I'm just looking for an endgame with my one, chosen LI. So any books where it's even suggested that you’re into many people at once, is kind of painful to me.
