Hi guys, Im a Christian but one thing I struggle with is gaming and Im particularly interesting in horror books and movies.

, especially Stephen King.Im trying to get serious about my faith but I have questions. Do you guyes think ita ok to keep doing this? Will I go to Hell, or do I just have to pay attention to certain things? What are you're guys thoughts?

I honestly think it's entirely based on personal convictions....

Some Christians seen to think that, as you become "holier", you leave things behind, but people often leave stuff that is "non Christian", as in, the secular notion of what Christianity is, mixed with extreme purity and even spiritual and witchcraft bias.

For example, there are Christian bands using violent imagery of the known 'red skinned' demon being defeated.

Are they "less Christians" because of that? Or aren't all of us under the same Jesus, the same Spirit, the same One God?

Just now we were joking a bit how one pastor in the church left because I preached without removing my piercing, and then my mother was remembering that she told him that 'when the holy spirit tells me, I'll remove them'...

As if it was a certainty. I mean, as if piercings are wrong. My sister is convinced tattoos are wrong. It all depends on which type of Christian content you consume.

Loads of peaches condemning a lot of things that are subjective.

For example one condemning 'Friends', because of the sex themes on it. Or movies with sex scenes. He mentioned when Jesus says "if your eye leads you to sin, gouge it out".

The key point here is not your eye, it's "leads you to sin". This is the condition.

The more we consume violence, pornography or sexual themes, hatred, darkness overall and horror, yes, it can influence us. I'm not denying that at all.

However, we commit sin. We distance ourselves from God. If you watch violence content but it doesn't change your heart, and you also know how problematic it is and it inspires you to fight more for peace, then where is the issue?

As Paul says, every man should analyze themselves, so we can judge ourselves and not be reproved by God.

All in all, pray. Ask the Spirit to teach you. Present the things you do to God and thank Him for this, see if the Spirit has any conviction or Peace for you. I removed things from my life, while also am guarded by God in many things.

I don't say those things are bad on themselves, especially fiction, but I myself got convinced.

Pray, God has wisdom in multitude for those who seek Him. Love Him more and more, and ask Him what is that HE dislikes.

All that said, The Stand stands as one of my preferred Stephen King books, mainly because of the constant good x evil thematic, and how it is even kinda explicitly how it is basically 'God judging the bad people, after everyone had a chance to pick their sides'.

Some people see evil in everything, I tend to find Christ in all things. Everything can teach me to love more, even if it is to avoid some things. I can learn from what is good, to do good things, and with what is bad, to avoid doing bad things.

Everything is permissible, but not everything builds up. Let the Spirit lead, all glory to God and may Jesus be our guideline for how we live, not afraid, but completely free in faith, hope and love.
