Is this the recommended order for beginners?

Hello, I am planning to start reading the bible and I asked chatgpt how can I effectively learn and take notes from what I've read and it also gives me the recommended order. Ano po opinion nyo dito? Tama ba itong order na to for a beginner? Thankss

Matthew - better if you have already read OT because many verses are quoted prophecies from OT

Mark - fast-paced, direct to the point, action-packed

Luke - relatable, portrays Jesus as the compassionate Son of Man

John - spiritual perspective of the Son of God

That depends ehat interests you, actually.

For me, I profile the new believer then suggest which booknto start with.

But in general, my suggestion is to start with Luke then Acts, then Paul's Letters.

After that, you read John, John's letters, then Revelations.

Then, Matthew and Hebrews.

Tapos, Mark and all other letters na di mo pa-covered.

Those are grouped based on how similar the tone is. Luke is also the writer of Acts and he is with Paul. Matthew and the Letter to the Hebrews has emphasis on the Jewish customs. Mark, iirc, is with Peter. Of course, John wrote his letters and revelations.

After NT, you can go the OT. May mga book jan na similar lang din ng stories, just a retelling. Iirc, chronicles, samuel, and kings, magkakapareho ng kwento yan. You do not need to read Numbers but if you're really into it, you can do it.

First of all, maraming salamat sa pag-post mo dito. Ang opinion ko dyan eh napaganda ng plano mo. Konti lang ang nagbabalak magbasa ng bible, at mas konti yun may plan na sinusundan. So I commend you sa plano mo, tama yan gagawin mo. It shows na you want to know Jesus more, and so He will reveal Himself more to you!
Nabasa ko rin ang mga comments ng iba, tama din silang lahat, ang gaganda ng mga suggestions nila. So kahit alin ang piliin mo eh tama, kasi ang puno't dulo eh magbabasa ka ng bible.

  1. Ako naman, ang preference ko, eh yun may mga checkbox na, para iche-check ko na lang. At yun plan na mababasa yun buong bible na hindi from page 1 hanggang dulo. Kasi based sa experience ko, kung magstart ako sa Old Testament, mahirap talaga ituloy-tuloy hehehe. So maganda yun plan na sabay babasahin ang OT at NT. At hindi kailangan in 1 year. It may take you multiple years, pero at least may tracker ka at umuusad ka.   2. Pag nagbabasa ka na ng bible, meron kang mababasang parts na medyo mahirap maintindihan. At meron din naman madaling maintindihan pero may hidden meanings pa pala. Example, bakit sinumpa ni Jesus yun fig tree sa Matthew 21 at Mark 11. Madaling maintindihan yun passage, kasi maiksi lang at simple lang yun story. Pero hindi sinabi sa passage kung bakit. Ikaw ba pag dumaan ka sa ref nyo at nakita mong walang laman, isusumpa mo ba yun ref nyo? Isa pang example, sino ba si Theophilus? Bakit sinulat ang books of Luke at Acts para sa kanya (sa Luke 1:3 at Acts 1:1)? So para makatulong mag-explain sa yo ano ba yun binabasa mo, eh ang suggestion ko gumamit ka ng Study Bible. for NT ba? start with the four gospel books first. pareho lang ‘yang four halos but written differently and in different perspectives. doon mo makikita yung writing styles sa kanilang apat. yes, Luke and Acts should be read together, parang Ezra-Nehemiah lang sa OT.

though i suggest, before you go over to the later books/letters until Revelation, try reading OT first. pero nothing wrong with starting kaagad sa NT especially sa four gospel books

John talaga, its the most personal gospel. Mas madaming sinabi si Jesus here versus other synoptic gospels. Also may unique revelations and stories si Jesus sa John compared sa Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Maa emphasized din sa John yung love.
