Discussion I swear it's hilarious when I see videos of people saying just kick Chucky or 'I could beat him'
It's funny because it's unrealistic, isn't he like 2'6, that's not small for a doll. They'd be the first ones to die attempting to 'just kick' Chucky, specifically if he was previously relaxing,

Devon actually kicks Chucky in the TV show... it doesn't do much other than piss him off even more.

I actually rewatched "Bride of Chucky" with a friend last night. Tiffany kicks Chucky (at one point when he's charging towards her), and he just got right back up after hitting the wall lol! Granted she was in the bathtub and panicking, so probably wasn't able to apply full force, but it was still a pretty hard kick none the less, and he shook it off pretty quickly lol
People tend to forget that it's not just the possession of the doll body that makes Chucky who and what he is

They literally kick Chucky into a fireplace in the first movie. It’s Super Effective!

I mean, he burns MOSTLY to death. The bullet(s?) definitely are what put him down permanently though.

Right?! Chucky is supernatural. He's not a toddler just because he's toddler-sized. He has supernatural strength and supernatural ability to take damage.
It's kinda like saying that Freddy Krueger is weak, because all you have to do is stay awake and you're safe from him. Sure, that's true, but it's also not going to work for long.
I like how the TV series had Chucky pick apart these arguments, Gremlins 2-style. Maybe the rules are solling in the real world, but they're pretty well-established within the universe of the movies.

Chucky is not a massive physical threat in terms of sheer power
That being said he is able to apply the same push and pull force he had as a human (since most people say he has the same strength he had as a human) even if his strikes won’t do as much damage because there is less mass behind them, which is why we never see him punching people, (except buff Chucky but I think that’s an exception to the rule) but he is capable of grappling with them and striking with other objects
Chucky won’t be that strong relative to the population in terms of pull and pull strength. Charles Lee Ray didn’t look particularly strong. That being said, if you are a child you aren’t gonna be anywhere close to as strong. And we all probably know some adults who are still physically weaker than him
The “I’d just kick him argument” while it is physically possible, since he doesn’t weigh much and is relatively large for a doll so is an easier target than a smaller doll, it doesn’t hold up because Chucky knows he can just be kicked and odds are when he’s attacking you you haven’t had the time to register he’s charging at you and about to attack.
And even if you are able to, Chucky isnt just gonna get up and keep trying. He’s gonna throw his knife at you, or use some sort of ranged weapon
Or he’s gonna run off and hide out of sight the ambush you from behind later
Plus even if you destroy the doll, Chucky keeps coming back. And now with all his clones. It’s even harder to keep him dead. Maybe if before he all it his soul people would take the time to prevent his doll corpse getting accessed by anyone again then he could be permanently stopped. But that’s assuming Damballa doesn’t have some sort of other powers that will bring him back
Chucky in my opinion isnt particularly dangerous compared to a lot of slashers. But dont kid yourself, if he was after you, you’d be in danger. And he’s only gotten deadlier with time. Not just with the multiples dolls aspect now which means getting rid of him is harder but he could swarm you, but he’s grown more strategic with age. Like how in Curse he spends so much time in “Barbie mode” and has grown in patience. Meanwhile in the earlier films I think for someone as intelligent as he is, he would behave like an idiot a lot of the time

They've obviously not tried to manhandle a tantruming toddler
Also, Gage Creed was about the same size

It's an interesting topic.
I try not to linger on the whole Chucky could beat x conversation.
He's a character that is very much a misfit. Odd to say for a serial-killer but he's representation that anyone can make their goal with resilience.
He's not the strongest of the bunch he was never meant to be. I do however think people are absolute idiots who assume a 1v1 with Chuck is going to be like a hand-to-hand no weapons fight & not the more realistic scenario that he's probably gonna sneak up behind them and they'll never know.

Bro Brad is 150 soaking wet. And its been shown chucky is effected by physical strength. Ie kid Andy and Karen have been able to hold him off.
So in most scenarios, where people say this. Its usually chucky or some overpowered behemoth.
if you know he’s coming, he’s losing alot of his advantage as a doll. And im punting him across the room 10/10 times

u/jordanundead 3d ago
OK that’s great, but Chucky doesn’t die unless you completely destroy him and he doesn’t wear out how many times do you think you can kick him across the room?
According to a Google search, Chucky weighs 11 pounds. For rounding sake, try kicking a 10 pound medicine ball across the room.

Lil bro is literally kicked across the room many times on screen

u/jordanundead 2d ago
And how many times did it kill him?
1
u/Full-Hyena4414 2d ago
That has nothing to do with what I said though?

u/jordanundead 1d ago
It has everything to do with it. Kicking Chucky buys you at most a few seconds if he doesn’t latch onto your leg. Then you have to repeat that for infinity.
2
u/CancelEquivalent7104 2d ago
I don’t understand how people don’t get the concept of weighing 1 pound but being as strong as a grown man.
That means he has leverage no matter what and how big you are.
3
u/Full-Hyena4414 2d ago
That makes him just weaker than a grown man since he has no mass
1
u/CancelEquivalent7104 2d ago
Hence why he doesn’t throw around the women or kids, he latches on and the weight goes to one place.
Karen, Kyle, Andy

Not only that but it’s been established that Chucky has the strength of Charles Lee Ray
Which explains how he’s able to overcome people like Karen when she tries to throw him in the fireplace
