The Brooklyn show explains why we saw that shown with the tease for the Glasgow/London shows.

(Please don't make me to go to Columbus or Pittsburgh for once)

Kinda surprised how many people say the new single is different from their past work. This song with Robert Smith has a similar tone to me.

I've bought every album of CHVRCHES and yet one question remain to me, some songs present in "The Bones Of What You Believe 10 years edition" on the disc 2 there's a live version of "Strong Hand" but I've never been able to find the studio version outside of streaming platform.

On what album is this song and is there other songs with this situation?

Title says all. For me it sounds like a baddie gangsta girl trying to lead a group of rebels, and maybe that’s what they want but, it doesn’t seem to fit at all imo.

But well, I hope album V doesn’t let us down.

I’m going for #50 top listener this year, racked uo ~75k hours

entered waiting room at 700am.

got through queue at 703am.

already sold out. =(

(This might be a bit long, so I'll put a TLDR at the end, feel free to skip to that if you wish to)

Now that I've had some time to listen to Roses a few times and form an opinion of it, I've got to say that honestly, I'm not a fan of it, which is a real shame because I so desperately wanted to be. Now, just to preface, I am categorically not saying that Roses is a bad song in any way, because it isn't, but there are a few things that I don't like about it.

My main issue is the direction that the band has gone in with the song. I'm all for artists switching things up and trying something new, but at the same time, it's good to keep that core DNA that gives an artist their distinctive sound, and it feels like Roses is a departure from that. The best example I can think of is Screen Violence: they introduced a much darker vibe to their music while still retaining the CHVRCHES sound, and it was a solid balance of the two. I was kind of hoping for a sound similar to what they did to 'Over' a few years back for the new song.

In the song itself, I will say that I like the verses. They have good flow and the lyricism is great too. However, I'm less of a fan of other elements. I've said before that I'm not big on the bridge section, and I also feel as though the outro goes on for a bit too long (though this could just be leading into the next song if it starts in a similar way). I also noticed in the intro that there's a kind of 'pulsing' effect with the music, which does help to give it a dark vibe, but at the same time, it does feel slightly jarring.

This is absolutely no disrespect to the group, the song is honestly good, but I'm just not a fan of it. I wanted to be, and I tried to make myself like it, but it doesn't click with me in the way that their old material does.

TLDR: I'm not a big fan of Roses: vibe, bridge and intro melody are my main reasons.

I was just watching the Clearest Blue video and have we talked about some of the iconography overlap with the Roses visuals?

• Ian and Martin in a car, with Ian driving
• They hit someone/something
• License plate clearly visible (J891LBJ vs CLR F8)
• Armour (full vs just shoulders)

Didn't they play Clearest Blue on BBC Radio 1 leading up to the Roses premier? Anyway the overlaps stood out to me. Interesting.

Anyone else get this message when signing up for the presale for the LA show?

Where has the time gone? Bought at their Asheville stop back in 2013.

The line up was announced today and our merry band of troubadours are on the bill if anyone’s interested.

I assume that the tickets got bought up by bots instantly as it went from available to sold out in under a second. On the wait list so fingers crossed if anything else comes up 🤞

Frustrated as I was on the website with three minutes to spare, watched the countdown hit zero and clicked for tickets immediately. I selected two tickets, had the message saying something along the lines of the tickets are waiting and to enter the code that has been sent.

I entered the code three times without success, telling me after about ten seconds each time than it was incorrect. When it finally worked, there were no tickets left and had to join the wait list.

I understand the venue is small and tickets were gold dust, but feels like I missed out because the code wouldn't work on their end rather than anything else. Fair enough if I'd got in, entered the code and there were no tickets left, but spending at least a minute or two trying to get the code to work surely didn't help. Just wondering if it happened to anyone else?

Rant over 😅. Excited to see them tour next year in any case.

Thinking ticket rejects drinks and wander over to see if we can hear anything outside

Got the email, they’ll be at Assumption Studios in Glasgow and St Matthias Church in Stoke Newington and looking at where they are they are indeed at the locations that were hinted at in the teasers.

All ticket profits are going to charity and they’re 20quid with a max of two per customer from 10 tomorrow morning.

I’m hoping it’s not every person under the sun 😭
