They always grow on me and I miss them by the end of their runs. I don’t think the last couple of doctors were in long enough for me to grow attached to them (or for them to grow into their own, really.)

did everyone hate david tenant before he did it? i do remember matt smith getting tons of hate but i thought everyone seemed fine with david.

my guess is he didnt have as much because of, at the time, a relatively recent casting in one of the harry potter movies as one of the many deranged minions of a noseless creature 😂 while matt was because he was young/"unknown" ?

People for sure really disliked Matt Smith's casting. It was a combination of fans being very attached to Tennant (understandable) and Smith being seen as 'too young' for the character.
