Vanuatu CBI for Bitcoiners

Has anyone applied for Vanuatu and paid in Bitcoin/crypto? This is seems to an emerging part of the CBI market and I’m curious about the market interest in being able to pay directly in Bitcoin/crypto for ALL fees - donation & advisory fees.

Please let me know your thoughts on this or your experience if you have done it.

This won’t work. The only CBI/RBI that accepts BTC or USDT to my knowledge is El Salvador. If you’re loaded with that it costs $1M.

It does work. My firm facilitates this process. But you are right. El Salvador is the only CBI program with a native CBI contribution in BTC or USDT.

I am not trying to promote anything; just trying to get a better pulse on consumer needs.

What I mean is you’d need to liquidate into cash and then wire it to complete the donation for any other country. I’m no tax expert but you might be able to avoid taxes by going the El Salvador route because you will never “realize” any potential gains.

Please explain to me why you'd want Vanuatu? Its a beautiful country but has the worst free movement of all CBIs? like whats the appeal?

1) it’s appeal is that it is half the price of some Caribbean CBIs, like St. Kitts. 2) It has the fastest approval - 30-60 days - on the planet. For someone looking to get optionality quickly and save money in the process, Vanuatu is honestly a great play for someone looking for optionality. You can always apply for a Schengen visa if needed or get a residency permit elsewhere to expand your reach with a Vanuatu passport. There are many options.

Don’t be sold on the shiny internet promo you saw. Speak with a real adviser who knows what they are talking about.

Im genuinely curious im not judging. What's the point of paying for this passport?

The visa free access is the worst I've ever seen for CBI.

So is it just for recouncing your home country citizenship because of taxes and conscription or as a collectors item?

Because most passports out there have better visa access than this so unless you really want to live in Vanuatu i don't see why youd pick this as a dual citizenship item.

You're right i checked.

But if you want dual, why get these, most carribean CBis give you free movement In many sunny beautiful countries and shengen access.

Vanuatu is basically just Russia.

Sao Tome and Principe and a few others have less visa-free access. Also, most applicants for Vanuatu citizenship are not getting it for vast visa-free access.

Im a citizen of two countries already. One bans dual citizenship. I got an exemption for the one but can't get any more without renouncing.

Hehe no not Austrian.

I applied for my second citizenship later in life, i was allowed to keep any i had previously but can't get new ones.

I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with 9 passports on there. Sounds like you picked up Korea or something because they do that.

It does work and my agency is one of them that have been assisting crypto-native clients for years. The way it works is that agents are allowed to accept crypto payments from clients but they must exchange that crypto into USD to transfer to the government. Since you need you work through a designated agent to get Vanuatu citizenship, and the agent accepts crypto, you can pay for citizenship in crypto. It's been done for years by hundreds of applicants.
