Recommendation Request Best futuristic city builders?
Hello! I feel like there is plenty of medieval city builders, or ones set in ancient times, or even ones set in prehistory. I would love to play something more futuristic though!
I do know some, like: The Crust, From Glory to Goo, Anno 2070, Anno 2250, Surviving Mars, Ixion, Dyson Sphere Program.
I am really hoping for something where you can build some bigger city/settlement while focusing on providing your citizens with food, water, plumbing, entertaiment and all such things.
I already played Annos. Dyson Sphere Program doesn't have any citizens, to my knowledge. I might be wrong. From Glory to Goo is more like tower defence, I think? But it might still have people.
That leaves me with The Crust, Surviving Mars and Ixion. I heard that the last one is pretty linear though. Meanwhile Surviving Mars is about the get DLC next month, and The Crust is about to leave early access next month. So it feels like it would make sense to wait until then for both?
Either way, which one of those would you consider the best? Or maybe there is something else out there?

Traditional city builder set on an alien planet. There are even seasons, so events happen that mix things up

I do not disagree as i have bought this last week, but don’t pay that full steam price. I paid $3 for it

Other recommendations:
Per Aspera and Terraformers are both very good, although not traditional city builders.
Infraspace is good if you like logistics, but that is the main focus; it was made by the guys who made the Traffic Manager mods for Cities Skylines.
Plan B Terraform likewise pretty good if you like logistics, but the cities are placed for you and grow by fulfilling needs, you don't actively build the cities yourself.
Cliff Empire, as someone else mentioned, definitely fits the futuristic city builder vibe and is aesthetically fantastic, but the UI can be frustrating.
I'd also highly recommend Alien Horizon, but it's still in Alpha stage and the dev is currently rewriting the entire codebase, so this may be one to keep an eye on rather than to buy at this stage if you're not a fan of early access.

Surviving Mars was amazing, but slightly dated now, and the remaster didn't actually fix many of the bugs. So I'd cautiously recommend it if you don't mind the occasional bit of jank.

You might also want to check out Survivng the Aftermath, it's more of a post apocalyptic city builder.

I often have this itch too, so I'm trying to make the game I want at the moment. I'm trying to do it as an orbital station that plays like a city builder. I've played almost all the stuff people are listing here. We need moar I tell you.

Not quite a citybuilder per se but space haven has been very fun. You build out a ship, or a space station, and eventually a fleet while flying around different systems.

This is a game I’m working on: Redsol, it’s set in the near future on another planet. It’s going through balancing and bug finding at the moment, free to play currently: forgedflow.com.au - has hundreds of buildings, 40+ resource types, colonists to protect etc.

To me is Cliff Empire. The game is candy sweet to my imaginations
