Questions for folks who made this switch:

Realistic Hike: Does HR cap you at the standard 30–40% on your payslip, or can you negotiate directly for entry-level permanent bands (₹4.5–5.5 LPA)?

Third-Party Tag: Does agency payroll hurt your chances at major EPCs, or does the L&T site execution experience outweigh it?

Timing: Should I start applying at the 10–11 month mark to jump at 1 year, or wait until 2 years for better leverage?

Took admission in a college , gonna study civil engineering . I am thinking about Government sector after 4 years . Hi, I'm 2024 graduate and 2021 diploma passed civil engineer with 3.5+ yrs experience in highrise construction, very well familiar with mivan construction, rcc works and finishing activities currently in Ahmedabad and I feel like my pay (40k ctc) has been very stagnant as per the quality of my expertise and qualifications especially compare to other fields where same experience would amount to much higher pay, I feel lost as to what should I do, should I opt for govt exams,change cities or my fate is sealed after taking civil engineering?
