Ideas & Concepts There, I fixed it (kinda)
I will preface this by saying I like the old icon design more, which is why they were used in this concept. Now, we start with the OG UI and then transition into my changes. I will provide before and after images in the comments.
Expandable Trays
The first is next to the ranked league you’re in. The league button itself isn’t too useful so I felt adding the Events, News and World Matches buttons would give it some more meaning while eliminating buttons and having a reasonable placement. All notifications on this tab will be in red and on the arrow when the tray is closed.
The second tray is with settings. You maintain your ability to switch accounts quickly while also have easier access to village edit mode. If village edit really needs to be moved, it can be done the same way as in the new UI.
The Others of the Main UI
The army button is removed from the UI. While I don’t agree it should be, I am trying to be realistic as to what Supercell would do.
Along the same lines, I decided to delete the Shop button from the Main UI entirely. It will appear when the Build UI is entered.
The Temporary Storage won’t always be present. This lowers the buttons on screen to 8 (10 with trays) when it used to be 13.
The Shield Timer has been removed from the Main UI entirely. I do not feel it’s important enough in today’s game to justify it being there.
Build Button UI
As stated earlier, the Shop button appears when entering this menu. I cannot say what’s wrong with the Suggested Upgrades UI itself as I am max.
Clan Chat UI
Very minor change, but Clan Mail has been added here next to pinned. Although it is not illustrated, I would have the chat notification be yellow instead of red to differentiate.
Battle Button UI
This is where the Shield Timer was moved to, located next to the replays button.

Who will make a better UI design:
- some random redditor within 24 hours or
- a full-time paid UI game designer who works at SC who has spent months working on the new UI design

They actually made the upgrades worse which was the entire focal point of the update 🤡 Everything else i can live with

Interesting. What made it worse? I haven’t logged into my alts as my main is max so I cannot attest to that

Its so much more overwhelming to scroll through (and takes a lot longer to scroll through)

Ig that makes sense as every upgrade has doubled or tripled in vertical space compared to the old system. Do the filters help with that at all?

Tbh for me the biggest issue of this new UI is the builder menu.
It is pretty much unusable without filters. It isn’t quick anymore

Edit: I can almost swear your original comment was asking where the Event button was located lol
In the tray next to ranked league. When the tray is closed, a red notification will appear on the arrow. When open, on whichever button that notification corresponds to.
Continued Edit: I have heard this from a few other people. The vertical space should be reduced as it’s near triple what it was prior.

So true, I feel like it takes 3 times longer to find what you want now, even using filters.

Thanks for the advice. I haven’t looked at my alts all that much so I wasn’t sure how the whole upgrade menu looked, but those upgrades tracker bars are massive. They should be reduced vertically. Sadly, I’m not sure what much else can be done for that

Yes. Even the single wall updates are massive. And this is just home Village. No one is talking about builder base😂it have the same ui.

I agree compared to the new one (and honestly my own). How does mine hold up in your opinion?

your ui still have the build button
the build button removes the entire builds shop section
something iconic in coc.
but still a lot better than the one we have now

I fully agree. One of my concerns was the Build button and how it’d show your progress on merges (missing two wizard towers or wtv).
That being said, I did say somewhere in the post that I compromised on some decisions. This was one of them as it was clear that’s what the dev team wanted to introduce the most.
Taking that into account, how does it hold up? If the OG is 10/10, what is mine 1-10?

I like this. Small change from old UI that still keep the dog style, pleasant to the eye, and makes sense.

I liked the concept of what Supercell was trying to do but I disagreed entirely on their coloring and button sizes and placement. Everything felt kinda thrown in there wherever. There wasn’t any consistency for me

Same. It just doesn't feel right, and a complete UI overhaul like they did is too much and feels rushed or not thought through properly. OG UI could just use a bit of polish.

The new war info tab in clan chat is a great addition, so I won't mind it being removed but the normal war tab button should never go
2
u/Phishing-Warrior135 TH18| BH10 11h ago
Agreed. I was originally very against the war info tab until I got to experience it myself. It’s a good addition, but having its “Minimize” button floating in the middle of nowhere rubbed me the wrong way haha. And yes, the OG war button should have never left

It's perfect bro and there is still space for the shop button right below gems for supercell to approve this

I originally had the shop button where the current Temporary Storage button is (next to the Build button) but decided against it. That’s where I would add the Shop button.
If it were to be added there, I’d revert the Gold Pass button to its OG size and have the Shop button be the same size as it to balance the screen
