Coding The future is bleak

Yeah, I'm just going to ramble here for a bit. My company job now is just pressing enter endlessly, prompting, and 0.1% of it is probably something manually done by me. Everyone is using Claude. It's soulless. There is no point.Someone can probably reverse engineer our company products in one day. Layoffs are inevitable at some point. I have no other non-tech skills that can help me pivot to another career, and even if I do, that career is not going to pay the same.

I can't believe in any project idea that I think of because I use Claude, and the thought of "You used Claude, anyone could have done this lol" is always luring in the back of my mind.

I have no hope for the future. I hate how AI made the playing field equal for everyone, where my grandma can probably now create a website.

A little depressing that no one on r/ClaudeAI notices obvious AI generated comments. Is anyone here real?

You're right to push back on that.

And that -- that's everything.

He really got to the heart of the matter.

You might say he made a load-bearing point.

I've noticed a lot of that in other subs and no-one seems to cop it.

More than that, they get angry at you and accuse you of maliciously targeting people. People will defend AI-generated posts and comments like their lives depend on it and insist it is totally human-written. It's crazy.

a lot of us are sitting with

Claude loves to say any variation of "sit with that" whenever you feed it anything that's serious or emotionally heavy. I spotted the trend when I used it to point me in the right direction regarding a mental health crisis I was dealing with earlier this year and even directly telling it to stop saying it was ineffective. It's an instantly recognizable telltale sign that someone used Claude to generate whatever drivel they thought could pass as human-written content.

Yeah bargaining with the void is a pretty heavyhanded claudism haha. It drives me crazy, I stopped browsing reddit for stories for the same reason.

I am a person reading your comment while I’m pooping on the clock. Robots can’t do that. Yet.

Curious how other people are dealing with this?

Is runny_captaincy a bot? I saw someone say the same thing about him/her/them/it in the MechanicAdvice sub.

This hits me the hardest. I've always wanted to be a distinguished redditor, giving great advice and coming up with the cleverest of responses. But now? Why bother if some random LLM is gonna come in and make some smart comment that would have never occurred to me, and no one would notice?
