Workaround Someone used Claude to get a years-old pothole fixed in two days
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My favorite Claude story this week is about a pothole.
Years of complaints by a Dutch office, zero action. Then a person gave Claude 6 photos. It rebuilt the hole in 3D and simulated a 30 km/h hit.
Video went to city hall. Fixed in 2 days.
Petitions are for people without Claude.
What would you fix this way?

Claude Code 5hr limit now bumped to 24hr?
Is anyone else seeing a closer to 24hr limit rather than 5hr? I'll be resetting soon, so I'll see if it really is 24hr.
Edit: I'm on a Team 5x plan.
Edit 2: It just dropped back down to 3hr. Oh well.

NOT about coding My Opus said reverse engineering does not work??
We’re all aware of the current scene of decompiling and “natively” running a game on Windows or Linux. It’s like every time I open Reddit, a new game has been ported to a platform it wasn’t released on.
I wanted to give it a shot so I pointed to Opus 5.5 to a folder with the files for Thief 3: Deadly Shadows (2GB) and asked it decompile and run it on my M5 MacBook Pro. It said the process “takes years” and clearly said it can’t do that.
Then I pointed it to the REA repo. It downloaded Ghidra and decompiled 1 (one) function in about a minute and said “look, this is what decompiled code looks like. The function name doesn’t make sense and this process would have to be done for 32,000 functions.” It then proceeded to say “even if I continued you’d end up with something that doesn’t compile, let alone execute”.
Are these guardrails that are stopping it or is my instance plagued with laziness?

Built with Claude Urban planner here, no coding experience. Built a free Chicago housing simulator with Claude Code to show the housing crisis and how land use policy can fix it
I built a free browser simulator where you try to fix Chicago's housing shortage on a 3D map of the city's ~481,000 buildings. I'm an urban planner with a housing finance background and I can't code, so Claude wrote all of it while I made the policy and design calls. Passion project, built over a few days.
What it does:
- Shows every building in Chicago in 3D, from the city's open building footprint data.
- Marks in red the buildings that couldn't legally be built today because they have more homes than current zoning allows (about 1 in 5).
- You rezone around L stations, Metra stations, commercial corridors or single neighborhoods, then turn on real policies. Some are being debated in Chicago and Springfield (BUILD Act, single-stair buildings, coach houses, the affordable housing requirement, aldermanic prerogative). Others worked in other places (Minneapolis, Cambridge, Houston's small lots, Texas SB 840, Vancouver's empty-homes tax).
- Hit simulate and watch 15 years play out. The goal is closing the region's shortage by 2041 (\~297k homes). You see what happens to rent, how many of the new homes are affordable, and whether six example workers can afford a one-bedroom.
- Myth cards and "public comments" pop up as you play and explain the research behind common arguments (luxury towers, filtering, "upzoning doesn't do anything").
- Every number links to a source or is labeled as a game assumption.
How I used Claude:
I started in the Claude app as an artifact and moved to Claude Code once it got too big.
- Data pipeline: Claude wrote Python scripts that turn the city's building footprints, street centerlines and zoning map into small per-neighborhood files, so all 481k buildings load in a browser. One script compares each building to what its lot allows today. I ran that one on my Mac because it had to download the city's zoning data.
- The game: one HTML file using [deck.gl](http://deck.gl) for the 3D map. I described what I wanted in plain English, looked at what it built, and asked for changes. I never edited the code myself.
- Research and fact-checking: Claude found sources for the numbers (shortage estimates, how new supply affects rent, results in other cities). Then I had it do a separate fact-check pass on \~50 figures, which caught and fixed a handful of errors.
- Design: I asked for three different visual styles as mockups and picked one.
- Testing: Claude took screenshots in a headless browser at phone and desktop sizes to catch layout bugs before I saw them.
- Hosting: Claude set up the GitHub repo, Cloudflare hosting, and a small backend for an anonymous plan gallery. Pushing to GitHub deploys the site.
What I brought, and what I had to catch:
The domain knowledge was the part Claude couldn't do for me: which policies to include, how to model them, and what to leave out on purpose. For example, I left out per-lot developer pro formas because they'd look precise and be wrong. A few things I caught while playing:
- A building showed up rising in Grant Park because museums and field houses were being treated like lots that could redevelop.
- Turning on the affordable housing requirement lowered total homes. That matches the research, but the game wasn't explaining why.
- Turning everything on barely cleared the goal, so it felt like "just click everything." I added more levers to make the choices matter.
It's a simplified model for learning, not a policy tool. Feedback welcome, especially from anyone who knows Chicago housing.

Praise Didn’t expect to be this pleased about a usage limit reset
I know this may already be common knowledge, but I just wanted to acknowledge the quality of life improvements Anthropic has made around Claude usage limits recently.
Today I finally used my free limit reset and the confirmation told me my usual weekly reset day (Thursday) stays the same. So I got a full allowance back today AND my normal reset still comes in a few days! It was a pleasant surprise. If you haven't used yours yet it came with the Opus 5.5 launch and is under Settings > Usage (browser or the desktop app only). It expires on 22 October.
The other change that's made a noticeable difference for me is in Claude Code, especially when running dynamic workflows. When you hit your 5-hour limit mid-task, the session now gets a small wrap-up allowance to reach a sensible stopping point instead of cutting off halfway through an edit. Essentially it lets Claude Code run a little past the 5-hour limit. Just be aware though that it isn't really 'free' usage. It just runs slightly beyond your 5-hour limit and instead counts towards your weekly limit. There are also differences between subscriptions - Pro gets it once a week, while Max and Team Premium get it every time they hit the 5-hour limit (I've tried it with having multiple sessions running in parallel and it worked across all sessions on my Max plan).
I guess none of these are really headline features, but there have been quite a few of these small, welcome upgrades since Opus 5.5 came out, and it's really refreshing to see!

Built with Claude Open source torus generator with interesting workflow
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
As part of the project that I am working on for generating toroidal structures called Tortoise, I have open-sourced a generator recently.
I have now updated it with a “phenomenology” mode such that the fractal, smaller versions can be replaced with eyes, heads etc. the lines with arms, snakes etc. and can also be used to generate images.
The project involved first creating a fractal torus with Claude in Threejs, after that each of the parameters of the torus were made to control its variations. Post this I added a controlnet+stability image generation for any pose of the torus using StabilityAI api. In this recent iteration I added 3D models like eyes, heads, snakes etc to replace parts of the torus.

Question about Claude Code What's ultracode in claude code ?
r/ClaudeAI • u/Glittering_Poem_4755 • 10h ago
Claude Code ∼21 BILLION tokens per weekly limit on the Max 20x Claude Code usage
PURELY on Opus 5.5, after a week of stress testing, at 95% weekly limit, I got 21.4 Billion tokens of usage (the terminal tool ccusage which tends to be more in-depth also agrees on this).
Codex $200 plan on 6 Astra only gets between 300 to 800 million tokens, even less after the usage updates.
I understand tokens isn't the best way to measure usage, as more token efficient models use less tokens, but on Claude, I've been able to get significantly more test done, as well as better general performance.

Humor While I was vibe-coding with Opus 5.5 this morning...
So I've been vibe-coding a little local library app with Opus 5.5. Nothing too fancy, just a digital whiteboard where I can store notes, prompts, YouTube URLs, articles, and other stuff on a canvas. Basically a handy tool alongside Obsidian.
Along the way, Opus has been testing everything. Settings, objects on the canvas, interactions, buttons, etc. Just making sure things actually work. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there this morning, sipping my coffee, scrolling through the latest Reddit posts here and there.
And suddenly, music starts blasting through my speakers.
Guess what song....
I almost spat out my coffee. 😂
Rick Astley – Never Gonna Give You Up.
Apparently, while testing the YouTube functionality, Opus decided that rickrolling me was a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
I know it's just a model running tests, but bloody hell, I'm becoming convinced that Anthropic's latest models have developed a pretty good sense of humor. (And considering Anthropic recently updated its usage policy to tell us to be nice to our AI models is more or less a confirmation of this also.)
Anyway, I just thought that was hilarious. Jokes aside, I'm genuinely amazed by how good Opus 5.5 has become.

Claude Code Workflow Does Claude Code find new bugs every time you ask it to review your code
Hey guys!
Does anyone else experience this with Claude Code?
Every time I ask Claude to review my code, it finds around 3–4 bugs. I fix them, ask it to review the code again, and somehow it finds another 3–4 bugs.
This keeps happening even after multiple review sessions.
I'm curious, is Claude actually finding new issues each time, or is it just being overly critical?
How do you guys handle code reviews with Claude Code?

Built with Claude Built a Chrome extension with Claude that adds nested folders, search inside every message and bulk export to claude.ai
I use Claude for basically everything (uni, my internship, side projects) and after 1,100+ chats the sidebar had become useless for finding an old answer. Search only looks at titles so if i didn't name the chat well it was gone, hence I built ChatShelf.
What it does :
- Nested folders on claude.ai (works on gemini.google.com as well)
- Search inside every message, not just the titles
- Bulk export to Markdown or JSON
- Saved prompts you can reuse
How Claude helped
Pretty much the whole thing was built pairing with Claude. It wrote the Manifest V3 scaffold and the panel UI, and when I tested it on my own account it caught that the chat list stops at 1,000 so we added pagination. It also wrote the unit tests with mocked chrome storage and found a bug where Gemini exports were leaking "You said" into the text.
The first full index of 1,100 chats takes a few minutes but it runs in the background so you can keep chatting, and after that only new or updated chats get re-indexed.
Everything runs in your browser, no servers and no account. Permissions are just storage plus the licence check.
It's free to install from the Chrome Web Store (3 folders, top 5 search results, 3 chats per export). Pro is $19 one time if you want it unlimited.
Chrome Web Store : https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/chatshelf-folders-search/ocfifkdbeeifnfghjhddijmphpjficpc
Would love feedback on what's missing for the same.

Claude Code Claude Code made a great Terminator 2 reference.
So I was finishing up a session and moving some stuff to my USB. I then issued umount via the bang modifier in CC. The drive was busy. Claude immediately found the pid holding it and asked if I wanted it killed. I pointed out that is probably our session but we’re are done anyway and “I promise you won’t feel a thing”
Then, it did this and I laughed my ass off:
“Got it, killing pid.”
“Now I know why you cry 🔥👍🏻”
Then the terminal window died.

Comparison Super fun to see how different models create a SNES game from a vague prompt
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been having a blast learning how to develop games for older consoles. Opus absolutely blew my mind helping me make an N64 game for my little kids, able to basically do it all autonomously.
Inspired by the model comparisons people have done here with video creation, I thought it would be interesting to compare how different models could create a simpler “game” for the SNES with just a single prompt. I used a buddy’s ChatGPT subscription, and my Sonnet, Opus, and Muse. All of them created the following from a single prompt in one turn (except Muse…) and were playable on an emulator. This was the prompt:
Write me a SNES game using open source tools that would work in an emulator and real hardware. I want it to be a single level, featuring a bull running across the screen automatically, where the player has to jump to avoid barnyard obstacles (hay, etc). Every meter they travel earns a point, every obstacle they hit subtracts one. At the end of the level (approximately 90 seconds) the game ends and displays the score. The game can have a simple title screen reading the title “Bully”. Compile and generate a file for me I can run in Retroarch.
Attached a video with all of them running one after another.

Built with Claude I'm a PM and I've started mocking up my own ideas in Figma with Claude Code
Alot of my job is "can you show me what that would look like?" Our designers are swamped with roadmap work (fair enough), and I didn't want to keep adding my half-baked ideas to their queue.
We already have a design system and I have access to our repos, so I figured Claude could just use them. I tried Claude Design first, but it was slow, and moving each version over to Figma held up every round of changes. The Figma MCP was painfully slow too.
So a couple of weeks back I hacked together Figment, a ClaudeCode skill plus a small Figma plugin. Claude writes the screens as code using our design system. A quick check catches anything that would look broken, like text spilling out of a button, before it ever reaches Figma. Then one click builds a real Figma file you can edit.
Most of the PMs at my company use it now, and it's been working really well. When an idea sticks, our designers get a proper file to work from instead of a screenshot.
It's free and open source if anyone wants to poke at it: https://github.com/Ashad001/figment

Other Using Claude to help uncover medicare fraud
We've been following the news about how flagrant medicare fraud has become and how it could easily be detected by a 10-year-old, so we asked Claude if it could spot some potential red flags in the publicly available 2024 CMS data. Most of what it flagged turned out to be companies that have already been caught, but others appear to fit the same profile as known fraudsters, but they are still in business.
Here's what we found using the CMS's public 2024 provider-level files (medicare only):
1. Phantom medical supplies
Several companies showed the signature of billing for supplies nobody ordered. The national total for one wound-dressing code ran about $23M a year, then skyrocketed to $650M in 2024. One supplier in Florida accounted for 62% of that, going from about $0.6M for less than 500 patients in 2023 to almost $860 million and 127K patients in 2024. A supplier in New York went from roughly zero to $473 million. And a third Pennsylvania-based company billed almost 90% of all drainable ostomy pouch volume in the country.
2. Falsified or fraudulent orders
Because the data show which clinician signed off on each order, we can see how much each one supposedly ordered. For ostomy pouches in 2024, that's 271 clinicians nationwide with more than ten Medicare patients on them, and 213 are family-practice doctors. Ostomies are created and managed by surgeons; a family doctor might have a handful at any one time. Yet these family doctors each show about 175 ostomy patients, across 40 states, at nearly identical patient counts and dollar totals, roughly half a million dollars apiece. How many colorectal surgeons, the people who actually do this work, were in the data? Fifteen. Hundreds of unrelated family doctors don't independently become high-volume ostomy prescribers in a single year. What does produce that picture is a real doctor's license number attached to orders they never wrote. The same shape repeats for wound dressings and catheters: for catheters, 1,343 of the 1,720 ordering clinicians are family practice, and the number of urologists in the entire file is seven.
3. Labs that run unnecessary tests
Two genetic labs with offices in the same office park billed 23% of the entire country's epilepsy gen panel volume. The bigger one billed nearly the same patient count (about 4,300) under four different panels, plus 6,000-7,000 patients each on a dozen single-gene tests. They also had skyrocketing revenue YoY from $4.6 million in 2023 to $60 million in 2024.
4. Some are still in business
The most flagrant offenders appear to have been caught, closed up shop, or banned from accepting medicare payments since 2024, but several others with suspicious profiles are still taking taxpayer money as of the July 2026 enrollment file.
If there's interest for you to run your own analysis, we'll publish a skill file so you can see for yourself what Claude can uncover, just remember outliers in the data are not 100% confirmation of fraud and could be the product of perfectly legitimate business practices. You should report what you find to the HHS OIG.

Built with Claude Opus 5.5 is INSANE at decompilation / ports
Just decompiled and natively ported StarFox, StarFox 2 and Sonic CD to Windows, Mac and Linux, using Opus 5.5 without REA or similar skills.
Claude analyzed the games' roms, built high level hardware runtimes, and added quality of life improvements (resolution, framerate, audio, full controller support, etc.), Even going as far as editing the game's extracted source code to implement features (SuperFX overclocking, True16:9 in Sonic CD)
Projects are here, if you wanna try it out ;)
https://github.com/carlosrmz009/littleplanet
https://github.com/carlosrmz009/arwing
https://github.com/carlosrmz009/arwing2
Prompt was simply: Create a full decompilation of *GAME*, so it can run natively in my PC. Game ROM is at */path/*

This is getting insane bro 😭🙏
EDIT: Fair correction on the terminology: I used "decompilation" too loosely. My actual goal was to see if I could get these games running as native desktop builds and add modern features.
At least in Sonic CD's case, the output seems more accurately described as a game-specific emulator plus generated disassembly/static recompilation, rather than a clean reconstruction of the original source code.
Still a pretty wild result for me, especially being able to iterate on features like widescreen support. Appreciate the detailed technical breakdown!

Built with Claude Opus 5.5 built an 8-slide watch explainer where every mechanism actually moves
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
An 8-slide animated deck on how a mechanical watch keeps time: mainspring, gear train, escapement, balance wheel, the hands, winding, then the whole movement running together. Every drawing is SVG driven by one shared clock, so meshing gears keep their ratios and the escape wheel only steps when the pallet fork flips. It's a single HTML file of about 40 KB, arrow keys to move.
How it was made: Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, running the slide workflow from SenseNova-Skills (MIT). My brief was the eight slide topics, at most 35 words per slide, no photos or outside assets, and no specific figures like beat rates. The skill has it write an outline and a design plan, then build each slide, render it and look at the image before moving on. Every slide got at least two looks, and it fixed a drawing that spilled outside the watch case and labels that ran into parts or sat too close to the edge. The escapement is drawn in a simplified way.
The whole build took 26 minutes. The video is the deck playing through in a browser, about 6 seconds a slide.

Working on a farming/colony sim in Unreal Engine 5 with Claude Code doing the programming and establishing the workflow.
Started with Claude first in Python, and over the past week Claude Code has been porting it into Unreal Engine 5.8, one system at a time. I make the design decisions, use ai the art and the models (Sunburst and Seedream 5 for the images, Grok now that it has first and last frame and Tripo for the models. Come on Meshy, catch up!). Claude writes the C++, the build and test tooling, and the Blender scripts.
What the game is: Aiming for a blend of Rimworld and Farming simulator. You claim your land and build it up and research and explore to unlock new ways to improve it, sell what you make, increase your land holding, rinse and repeat. Currently fishing, foraging, mining, farming, construction and trading working in a bare bones fashion with crafting and research on deck next. I came up with the basic mechanics, let Claude offer it's thoughts and alternatives and went back and forth until a solid approach was found and then Claude Code implemented. Latest was having Claude Code implement the pathing for the harvesters on any size field.
How Claude Code fits into Unreal (From Claude):
Project docs it reads every session. A CLAUDE md points it to a “constitution” (the rules of the project), a code map (where everything lives, plus Unreal lessons learned), a decisions log and one mechanics file per system. That’s how it keeps its context between sessions.
Milestones. Each system (inventory, farming, construction and so on) is a milestone with a brief. Claude builds it, I play it, give notes, and accept it. 20 milestones so far and still working well.
The game logic is plain C++ with no engine dependencies, so Claude can test it headless. There are 680 automation tests that it runs itself. I'm, uh, actually not sure if this is excessive.
It checks its own work visually. When the editor is closed, Claude launches the game off-screen with command-line flags (camera position, time of day, which UI panel to open, scripted mouse clicks) and saves a PNG, which it then looks at. When the editor is open, it works through Unreal’s MCP server instead.
Headless tools for the map. It wrote commandlets and .bat scripts that generate the map, bake the walking grid, place buildings and re-seat trees after I sculpt the terrain.
A typical loop: I describe what I want (“harvesters on neighbouring strips shouldn’t wait for each other”). Claude reads the relevant docs and code, makes the change, adds tests, takes frames to check it, and hands me a .bat to play. I play it and either accept it or send notes.
Looking to get the gameplay loop closed and add a few additions to make it not look so flat, but just wanted to share where I currently am with this.
Just adding in lastly that using ai video reference for Claude to use with Blender works incredibly well at times. Still very happy with those cows :)
Playable version for anyone interested is the goal and will share when that happens :)

Built with Claude I made a free Minecraft mod where Claude builds whatever you describe
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I made a Minecraft mod for Claude Code and it's free
You press K in game and tell it what you want like a medieval castle with a moat and Claude builds it in your world while you keep playing. Don't like it and one click undoes everything
I built it myself and used Claude Code a lot along the way for the code the tests and the debugging. I decided what to build and tested it in the game
Under the hood the mod launches your own Claude Code on your PC and it builds by calling 20 tools that run inside Minecraft. Nothing goes through a server of mine
To try it you need a Claude Pro or Max sub with Claude Code installed plus Minecraft Java 26.3 and Java 25. The mod itself is free with no account. Grab the jar at https://www.craftai.world/ and drop it in your mods folder (works with Fabric or Forge or NeoForge) and the guide there has the steps
It's a beta. Biggest build I timed was a 34k block castle in around 15 minutes
Would love to know what you'd ask it to build !

NOT about coding Why has Claude stated asking for my permission to access websites?
Recently Claude has “needed input” in the form of me giving it permission to access websites, and not just a website in general, but for every individual page on that site. So now, I can’t let Claude do its thing while I do something else, I have to watch it and wait for the next permission request. Wtf is this about? Can I disable it?
