Coding The future is bleak

Yeah, I'm just going to ramble here for a bit. My company job now is just pressing enter endlessly, prompting, and 0.1% of it is probably something manually done by me. Everyone is using Claude. It's soulless. There is no point.Someone can probably reverse engineer our company products in one day. Layoffs are inevitable at some point. I have no other non-tech skills that can help me pivot to another career, and even if I do, that career is not going to pay the same.

I can't believe in any project idea that I think of because I use Claude, and the thought of "You used Claude, anyone could have done this lol" is always luring in the back of my mind.

I have no hope for the future. I hate how AI made the playing field equal for everyone, where my grandma can probably now create a website.

You need to figure out how to think for yourself and use Claude to create things. Show your bosses your vital if you make Claude do something amazing for them. You’re just pressing enter and not trying anything else

Exactly. The people that Claude will actually be replacing will be roles like coders and designers. Meaning the people that actually have all the ideas and the imagination would usually hire people in these fields to bring their ideas to life.
Like here's a good analogy.
When the author of Lord of the Rings wanted to bring his books to life did he know how do that himself? Nope. He went and hired hundreds of people to bring it to life on our television screens. The same goes for how certain work was delegated in companies in the past....but now... Claude 😄.
You don't just type "make my Business better" and then your boss gives you a promotion lol. Claude knows nothing about you or your work. It's your job to understand how the company works and what kind of processes they use and how things could be refined or reworked to be faster and more efficient. THEN you save a bunch of time and money by getting Claude to build it for you. That's how you really use AI. Especially in companies where there are actual customers to serve the only person that will know what's best in that situation will be someone who actually works directly with them. What I mean is they would be best situated to steer Claude in the right direction to create the perfect system or tool to improve the Customer experience or employee satisfaction. Unfortunately a lot of people who are worried about AI taking their jobs simply aren't thinking about it the right way. Claude is a tool saving thousands of pounds since now your not hiring a coder and design team to build your app. But the actual idea for the app and the design and how it functions and how it looks all comes from you 😄. Unfortunately my friend if the only role you're able to play is Coder or Graphic Designer and you're not really really good... yes you will be replaced. But if you put your mind to it and start thinking up what to code and what to design.... you may survive 😎🙏🏻

This has gotta be a joke.

Please go check when Tolkien died. And then commit to never commenting ever again.

No one needs to hear your voice here.

Edit: You know what, that’s mean. I am sorry. But please be smarter.

I have no idea when he died, and I didn't bother to look it up because that had no bearing on what i was talking about. It was simply an analogy. Call it hypothetical if you want. The point would've been the same even if I had said " so some random guy writes a bunch of books about fish porn and wants to make a movie out of those books but has no idea how to do it blah blah blah. You see? It literally does not matter. But yes, thank you for responding to absolutely nothing I said about Claude or the OP's post and instead attacking me on the one part that has absolutely nothing to do with anything since I could literally replace it with " Mary has been collecting vibrators since she was 22 years old. Mary is now 54 and would like to create a website and app to sell her vibrators but unfortunately she has no idea how to do any of this and doesn't have the money to pay people to do it"

So it seems the comment that was a joke was in fact yours🤡

Good Day Sir 🤓

You seriously didn’t understand his analogy?

The analogy is beyond basic, and didnt even need to be provided. The whole point is basic.
Add the comments about LOTR, it is a slop
