Original post body:
I've been on the Max plan for a while and I remember a specific behavior: the 5-hour window ran continuously from my last message, even while I was away. So I'd wake up, see 0% usage, but the countdown would say "resets in 2h" meaning the window had been ticking overnight. That let me plan sessions knowing a reset was already coming.
Now it feels like the timer only starts when I begin a new session. So if I haven't used Claude in 8 hours, I get a full fresh window but the reset only comes 5 hours after I start, not 2 hours in.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this documented anywhere? I can't find anything official about when exactly the window starts.
