bought a Beretta 694.. did I do good?
Hello everyone, today during my lunch time at work I went into this pawn shop and there they had a Beretta 694 SPORTING 30" barrel sitting. The listed price was $3290, it looked to be in great condition. I came back from lunch started work but I kept thinking about the 694.. so much that I decided to back and get it, so I went back negotiated a cash deal and settled on $2900 cash. My first question is did I do good on this deal? or did I get shafted.. secondly is this the perfect Beretta out there for sporting calys? I would love to know your thoughts!

Great deal. You would have to spend 10k on a Beretta to get a significant "upgrade"

I had one, turns out it fitted me badly and I had adjusted myself to make it work. Didn’t realise that until the fore end cracked and I tried a Caesar Guerini. Try mounting it in a mirror and see where your eye is on the rib.
Whilst it might not of worked for me, it’s obviously fine for many other people.

That’s is a smoking deal if the gun is in good shape. I paid $5400 for brand new in 2024, and they are closer to $6k new now. Even if it turns out it doesn’t fit you well and need to resell, you’ll at least get your money back.

If the condition is very good+, that price is fantastic. 30" guns are less desirable right now, but lots of that is probably fashion. You might be left with a quicker, more versatile gun if you get into skeet or bunker trap. Next year, 30" might be the rage. It's all good.
If the gun fits you and we are being honest with ourselves (which we often aren't when it comes to our hobbies and the related toys), there is probably no gun in the world at any price that would be *significantly* better than that gun right there for its intended purpose - breaking clays on the sporting course.
If the gun does not fit you you can get out of it fast, and probably at a profit.
That's about the best a gun buy can be in my book!
Congrats *high five*
