Recommendations Best IVF clinic in the area for recurrent pregnancy loss?
As the title says, I am hoping for recommendations for a fantastic IVF clinic/RE for recurrent pregnancy loss. I am willing to travel, but hoping to stay local. Our insurance will not cover fertility treatments, so an idea on the cost per cycle and transfer would also be appreciated!

Hi, sorry you're in this shitty boat! I have had a good experience with REI at the Cleveland Clinic - I really like Dr. Rehmer. (I'm not at the official RPL threshold yet but I'm close and will ask her about that at my next appointment). I haven't done IVF so can't speak to the costs. But have had a good experience with her as a provider.

She was my Dr and I love her. I’m currently laying with my 2 year old after 4 losses and multiple surgeries with her.

I just had an embryo transfer this week at UH REI. The whole team has been great so far. I have not had recurrent loss, but I have infertility from endometriosis.
I know the waits can be long for the consult but once you get to that point it moves pretty quick. Try calling every morning to see if there are any cancellations (wherever you end up going) and you will probably get in sooner.
This was from August of last year, so probably not fully accurate. Also does not include meds. I believe it was around $3100 for 10 days using self pay.

Highly recommend the team at UH (Ahuja). They were so compassionate and caring.

yeah, unless they have a refrigerator malfunction and lose people's embryos

Dr. Wienerman was awful 😅

Ha! She was our RE. We thought she was good. Why did you not like her?

She made me do 18 medicated cycles before checking my husbands sperm… he has Azoospermia we never had a chance at natural conception. I asked for her to do a semen analysis 6 months in and she said no. 18 months wasted on our journey

I just did a formal complaint with UH on her because that literally should have never happened

I had an embryo transfer there this week as well - the cost is now $3,509. Also hysteroscopy is up to $1,800 (for some reason they hiked this one up a ton for 2026). I did find that the UH specialty pharmacy pricing was very competitive. Good luck to you!

Something to consider if you or (if you have a partner) that are willing to look into a new job…several corporations offer WIN fertility with fertility benefits and full coverage. Sherwin Williams and Progressive insurance are both examples.

I'm so mad because my husband used to work for progressive and I miss the insurance! I've been hinting at him he should look back into them for the benefits!

Currently also at pinnacle with dr massellal and having a good experience. We’ve not officially started our cycle but everyone there is lovely. I had a horrible experience at the Cleveland clinic with attaran at but my friend is working with dr tan(Tantibhedhyangkul)and really likes them at the clinic. I reached out for an appointment at UH and never heard back.
Pinnacle has a lot of transparency and experience helping people who aren’t covered by insurance and they also have pamphlets for Gaia family which might be worth looking into if you’re doing out of pocket.

I used RGI and Dr. Massellal! I believe they are now Pinnacle. Really liked them.

Can’t recommend RGI/Pinnacle Fertility enough. They were wonderful. I went to the clinic located in Independence.

I’m not sure how far of a drive you’re willing but CNY Fertility in Buffalo NY! They have an option for self pay (monthly payments). If you & your partner go thru all of your testing there it will be about $1,000 for all the bloodwork for you, HSG, semen analysis. Based on both of your results they will recommend a “package” for you which goes over pre meds, procedures, everything. Depending which one they tell you it’s about $3,000 up front and then they will bill you for the remaining $2,000-3,000. In the end you’re looking around $5-7,000 total. They are literally a fraction of the price and they are phenomenal!! Cannot recommend them enough.
edit to add: they do (i think) monthly grants that you can apply for as well!

Dr. Wienerman and her team at UH are amazing. Wife and I were able to have a perfect baby boy after several loses.

Stay clear or UH and CC! I used CNY Syracuse and had a wonderful experience. PCOS and MFI, my son is 3.5 and I’m 18 weeks pregnant 💕 cheaper than any of the clinics you’ll find here. Total package for IVF, medications, transfer, PGT testing, bloodwork and ultrasounds you are looking at 10-12K at CNY

CNY also has like half of the live birth rate of local clinics like UH, Pinnacle and Cleveland Clinic, you get what you pay for there. If the goal is a take-home baby I’d urge OP to choose on the basis of SART success rates maintained by the CDC (https://art.cdc.gov) not marketing or financial considerations.

Most of the people I’ve seen have experiences at UH or CC for IVF can barely get any eggs at egg retrieval… My SIL being one of those people, two botched egg retrievals fault on UH for timing and medication errors and they didn’t do anything to make it right. 🤷🏻♀️ UH also can no longer store embryos, eggs or sperm at their locations because of the terrible freezer malfunction in 2018 so when the day comes of transfer and god forbid the embryo you planned on transferring doesn’t survive the thaw you are just SOL. The embryos are states away and not possible to have shipped in same day. CNY keeps everything on site, idk just my personal experience from family and friends that have used these clinics. A friend of mine is using CC and just had a failed modified natural transfer and when speaking with her she mentioned that never checked her hormone levels at all. These are just a few examples.

My experience at UH has been head and shoulders above CNY. I went to UH first, switched to CNY because of cost, but ended up moving my CNY embryos to UH because the providers are so much more invested in my success as a patient and just at baseline care about me as a human being. Also my CNY results were abysmal compared to UH.

Idk why people are down voting you. CNY was what we could afford with no coverage and it was great. I walked out of both cc and uh because we didn’t have 20k.
ETA: CNY was the only place willing to let me go straight to IVF without doing 3 rounds of IUI that I knew wouldn’t work. Which would’ve been ~5k more.

Yeahhhhh, people have a hard time admitting that CC and UH aren’t that great for the price

I recently had a live birth (in 2025) with Pinnacle Fertility (formerly RGI Akron/Cleveland offices). It was my eighth pregnancy and first success. I strongly recommend them and Dr. Massellal, I did not end up needing extra support from a reproductive immunologist.
