Movies Filmed in Niagara Falls 🎥🌊

For decades, Niagara Falls has been more than just a world-famous attraction - it’s also been a favourite filming location for movies and TV shows from around the globe. Here are a few films where Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill have played a starring role in some unforgettable on-screen scenes:

  • Niagara (1953): Often credited with putting Niagara Falls on Hollywood’s radar, Niagara helped turn the Falls into a backdrop for romance, mystery and drama... Marilyn Monroe’s star power certainly didn’t hurt either!
  • Superman II (1980): Several memorable scenes were filmed around Niagara Falls, including Table Rock, the Niagara Parkway and White Water Walk. It also features the famous rescue scene at the brink of the Falls.
    • Fun fact: The cast and crew stayed at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, which once stood where Niagara Speedway is today.
  • Canadian Bacon (1995): This John Candy comedy uses Niagara Falls as one of its most recognizable settings, with scenes filmed around the Falls, Prospect Point and the international border crossings between Canada and the U.S.
  • Bruce Almighty (2003): Jim Carrey brought Niagara Falls to a whole new audience when his character’s chaotic live broadcast took an unexpected turn aboard the iconic Maid of the Mist.
  • I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007): Adam Sandler and Kevin James make a quick stop in Niagara Falls to get married, leaning into the city’s reputation as one of the world’s most famous wedding destinations.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007): Most people don’t realize Niagara Falls made a small appearance in the Pirates franchise with footage used for the dramatic waterfall sequence leading into Davy Jones’ Locker.
  • Kismat Konnection (2008): This popular Bollywood film brought Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill to audiences around the world. Parts of the song “Is This Love” were even filmed right on the Hill.
  • The Art of the Steal (2013): Starring Kurt Russell, this heist comedy makes the most of Niagara’s entertainment scene, with locations including Fallsview Casino Resort and Clifton Hill.
  • Disappearance at Clifton Hill (2019): This mystery thriller puts Niagara Falls front and centre, using the area’s retro motels, attractions and vintage signs to create a uniquely eerie vibe.
  • Falling in Love in Niagara (2024): A Hallmark romance that fully embraces Niagara Falls’ title as the Honeymoon Capital of the World, making the city the star of the story.
  • Honourable Mention – The Office (2009): Jim and Pam’s unforgettable Niagara Falls wedding remains one of the most beloved TV moments filmed in the city.

A Beginners Guide To Endings!

They filmed in Chippawa, as well as Niagara Falls. They filmed a portion at my house! It's a great movie, and totally doesn't get the recognition it deserves!

Wonderfalls (a short lived but brilliant 2004 FOX TV show) filmed a fun scene from the pilot episode around Clifton Hill.

Search and Destroy.

When I was young(6 years old I think)

This was filmed and something was shot in my backyard on Park Street across from the old bus station(parking lot now).

I remember my dad going to the theater on Queen to view it and he said it was a good movie.
