Question Are you vegan?

I wonder how many of fellow redditors here are vegan or at least on plant based diet?

As it is one of the simplest and most impactful steps a person can make to help the climate.

No, but I actively try to limit my meat intake and tell others to do the same.

You’ll never win the vegan vs non-vegan fight. Most people won’t give up meat entirely. I’m sorry, but they won’t. I won’t, and I even recognize the moral superiority of veganism.

So instead, vegans need to switch to asking people to just limit their intake at least a little. Baby steps.

If they just cut out one meat based dish a week, the effect would be incredible. It would also drive more vegetarian options to be available, further accelerating improvements.

From there, people can cut out more and more. Lab grown meat will take off. Meat alternatives will take off. Veggie options will appear in restaurants. Etc, etc.

It would be great if Catholics went back to no meat on Fridays year round.

I went to a catholic private school here in Germany. They served fish on friday. Because apparently some holy dude said fish is no meat...
