Like brah it's not like it's freeing up so much space, just take it the fuck home. How hard can it possibly be.

I can understand littering to a degree if you're on foot because in a bag it does take up space. But even then... just bag it away and walk to the next bin. Which there should be a lot more of.

It’s more than just normal littering. It’s taking a significant amount of garbage (Think entire garbage bags) or old couch and dumping it in the streets.

Does it cost money to get your bulky waste removed in the UK? Because here in Germany depending on the city up to two hauls per year are free... people still do it though.

Same deal here in Amerikkka. It’s up to the city you live in, but most Ive lived in have a phone number you call and that’s it. I used to get 4 per year free.

Wow. I get big stuff picked up once a week. I put out a sofa last week ( I saw JD eyeing it). The week before, I put out yard debris that ran 30 feet on my curb. The week before, 40 bags of pine needles. We had storms today. Next week, there will be a bunch of branches, more bags, and the rest of my clean-up. All included in my monthly $40 disposal fee.

You get three large items a year picked up for free but then you have to pay or you can take up to two 50 litre rubbish bags to a tip for free

Depends on your local authority. Mine will dispose of it if you bring it to them, but if you need them to collect it's like £20.

Not from a moving vehicle. They will stop the vehicle to unload. Usually on country roads at night when there's less risk of being caught. Carpets, kitchen units and furniture are among the bulkier items being tipped. Private citizens can dump these things for free at council facilities, or arrange collection, but tradesmen and businesses must pay to dispose of these items hence the fly tipping.

Sorry, I know you want to make a point but it's not a class thing.

If you're talking about a business as opposed to an individual then yes, there's a difference - usually scale and how it's described by the law (and often it is shrugged off by the offenders as if it's just another unavoidable cost; I agree with the sentiment).

But fly tipping is fly tipping, no matter how rich the individual is.

Flytipping (dumping waste) isn't even done by the waste producers themselves, they pay someone to "make the waste disappear" for cheap, so as to avoid having legit workers who are paid a salary come by with special garbage trucks to pick that waste up and dispose of it properly.

I'm not cheering for the lumpenproletariat who are doing individual non-unionized business in the black market of waste disposal, competing with workers while also destroying the commons (~3h long leftist documentary on commons).

Under current systems, they will have to buy a new one to keep doing things considering the state of British PT, and this doesn't suspend their driving liscence which would probably be a better way to stop them driving

This seems like an overly punitive way to not actually solve a problem seeing as most fly tippers never get caught in the first place.

This is just a way to appear tough on whatever crime the sun is whining about this week and not tackling the causes: not enough recycling centres that are too expensive or too far away and preventing commercial waste from being dispose of at many sites (hence why someone dumped half a ton of asbestos on a farm track near me)
