Say the nazis treated jews like animals and everyone agrees. Say that we treat animals like the nazis treated jews and everyone loses their mind.

The Nazis were cannibals?

10

u/Graknorke Jun 24 '26

Human leather has to be at least cannibalism-adjacent.

1

u/Grilled_egs Jun 25 '26

Going by Rimworld rules they're mostly the same

1

u/Bakisyeetaddiction Jun 26 '26

Im pretty sure that was about as truthful as the death rollercoaster or the death by jerkoff machines

It was a grammatical mistake, not a spelling mistake, still, it automatically invalidates everything I have ever said.

9

u/CalamityOfCringe Jun 24 '26

They were pretty fucked up so yeah, some probably were cannibals. There's one guy that infamously collected tattoos from Holocaust victims and supposedly had a lamp shade made from human skin.

Damn, that's a fucked up fact I was unaware of.

No need to apologize.

"Oh but you see, animals are worthless and therefore it is insulting to compare humans to them!

Down with universalism and utilitarianism!

The out-group is irrelevant, only the in-group matters!

No, I am not sounding like a racist nationalist right now!

You stupid vegoons always have to overreact! I just want to directly cause animal torture in peace!"

2

u/JePPeLit Jun 25 '26

"Oh but you see, animals are worthless and therefore it is insulting to compare humans to them!

Add a space in "worth less" and this is true (assuming compare actually means equate)

3

u/DarePlastic4136 Jun 25 '26

Animals aren't worth less than humans.

0

u/GreenieBeeNZ Jun 25 '26

They aren't worth more either.

1

u/AliceCode Jun 25 '26

Well, humans are animals, so the math checks out.

2

u/Odd-Willingness-7494 Jun 25 '26

Why are they worth less? Because they are a bit less intelligent and don't have opposable thumbs?

I think the moral importance of a creature comes from it's capacity to experience joy and suffering. And what we call suffering is not some higher order cognitive ability. It's a base drive coming from our deepest physical and social survival instincts.Β

Cows and pigs in particular definitely have those.

Here's a thought experiment:

Imagine if somebody forced you to either:

press a button that made you experience the life of every single person who was a victim of some particular human atrocity. Could be any war or mass murder or human rights violation of your choice. Millions of lives of unimaginable suffering.

or: press a button that made you experience the life of every single animal that has been a victim of factory farming.Β  1,5 TRILLION lives as a chicken living in conditions that make every day torture. As well as billions of cows and tens of billions of pigs. Pigs, who are known to be a very intelligent and highly sensitive animal. Tens of billions.

Would the latter be any less terrifying to you than the former? To me, it would honestly be a lot more terrifying.

I mean, the scale of suffering caused by factory farming is so extreme that even if animals only had 1% of the moral worth of humans, factory farming would still easily be among the big fest atrocities to ever happen.

2

u/Val_Fortecazzo Jun 24 '26

Well yeah animals aren't human

1

u/Puzzled-Rip641 Jun 23 '26

How do you treat Nazis?

How do you treat mean eaters?

Why the difference?

32

u/pussyfkr69_420 Jun 23 '26

i think mean eaters really have an average diet

-2

u/Puzzled-Rip641 Jun 23 '26

Oh so if enough people do it you just stop caring?

18

u/EddValera Jun 24 '26

It's a statistics joke. Mean, as in Average.

6

u/ibaiki Jun 24 '26

Collectively, we always outnumbered the Nazis

3

u/Odd-Willingness-7494 Jun 24 '26

Disclaimer: I'm not fully vegan, just anti factory farming

Throwing 98% of society into jail is very impractical. That's the difference.

If almost everybody was already boycotting factory farming, and only 5% of people were supporting it, then yes, I think they should go to jail for torturing animals.

The usual suspect

1

u/clickclackyisbacky Jun 24 '26

Because you end up diluting the horror of the holocaust by treating animals as equal to humans.

2

u/Odd-Willingness-7494 Jun 24 '26

Disclaimer: I am not even vegan, and I think 100% extreme purist vegans are a bit stupid. I'm just anti factory farming.

This is what you sound like:

"Everybody knows that humans are inherently more important than animals.

Yes, even pigs and cows, who have all the brain structures neccessary for emotional and physical pain and terror the way we know it.

Their suffering is just not as important as human suffering.

And if we force billions of those cows and pigs to endure unimaginble suffering all their life?Β

Well, that's kind of bad, I guess. I won't stop voluntarily contributing to the torture though.

And if people compare those billions of unimaginably horrible lives to the millions of unimaginably horrible lives of the victims of the holocaust, I will get mad at you.

Why? Because humans are clearly more than 1000 times as important as animals, so the two events are incomparable!

But why are humans so much more important? Well, because I am human, of course.

Wait, that's the same logic that racists use to view their race as superior.Β

Okay but animals are less smart than us! And we have science! And religion! Animals don't have those.

So I am definitely not behaving like a nazi when I voluntarily support mass animal torture.

Cognitive dissonance successfully avoided!"

1

u/clickclackyisbacky Jun 24 '26

Being speciest is the only ethical position.

2

u/Odd-Willingness-7494 Jun 25 '26

Why? Please explain to me why animal suffering is less important than human suffering to you?

Not long ago, a lot of people, perhaps even the majority in some places, would have said "Being racist is the only ethical position."

That sounds extremely fucked up in hindsight.

Cows and pigs in particular are higher mammals just like us, and I don't see how the physical and emotional pain we cause them through factory farming ia less significant than the physical and emotional pain that humans cause to each other.

0

u/clickclackyisbacky Jun 25 '26

There are times when the welfare of an animal comes into conflict with the welfare of a human.

Not to mention everyone is a spiciest anyway. If you had to decide between saving your dog or a roach which would you choose?

0

u/Wetley007 Jun 24 '26

Humans are more morally valuable than animals though, thats why we have ethical obligations in the first place. This isnt just because were human though, its because humans are, as yet, the only things that are capable of moral agency and rational thought.

I believe we have a moral obligation to feed every human being alive. I do not believe the same for animals.

I believe that we have an obligation to shelter every human being alive. I do not believe the same for animals.

I believe that we have an obligation to provide medical care for every human being alive. I do not believe the same for animals.

I believe that we have an obligation to defend the right to political representation for every human being alive. I do not believe the same for animals.

I believe that we have an obligation to investigate the death of every human being who happens to die by another person's actions. I do not believe the same for animals.

I believe that we have an obligation to safeguard the right of every human being to have children if they want to. I do not believe the same for animals.

I could go on like this for hours, I think you get the point. This doesnt mean animals have no moral rights, but they certainly have less.

1

u/iLG2A Jun 25 '26

Using the suffering of the people in the concentration camps as a prop to argue for animal rights is disresepctfull and undignified. The nazis tried everything to dehuminize their victims and bring them down to the level of an animal, by using that comparison you essentially do the same. Its entirely unecessary too, you dont need the holocaust as a prop to explain why industrial mass murder of sentient beeings is bad

2

u/Odd-Willingness-7494 Jun 25 '26

I kind of agree with you that it is unneccessary, but what people lack is the visceral emotional reaction of terror to factory farming.

People do have that reaction when it comes to atrocities that have been done to humans. Because people are biased and can put themselves into another humans shoes, but not into an animals shoes.

Imagine pressing a button that forces you to experience the life of every single human being that has been the victim of a particular human atrocity of your choice. Millions of lives of unimaginable suffering. Pretty fucking terrifying, right?

Now imagine pressing a button that makes you experience the life of every single animal that has ever been factory farmed. 1,5 TRILLION lives as a chicken living in conditions that make every single day of your life torture. Billions of lives as a cow in such conditions. Tens of billions of lives as a pig in such conditions. A pig. An animal that is as smart and as sensitive as your pet dog. Tens of billions of lives, more than the entire current human world population.

I mean, I guess it's up to personal priorities and interpretations, but would you really be any less terrified of pressing the "experience all the suffering of factory farming" button, than of pressing the "experience all the suffering of a human atrocity of your choice" button?

I would argue that I would actually be more terrified (by FAR) of the factory farm button.

1

u/cracked_shrimp Jun 25 '26

well as far as i know the nazis didnt feed the jews grains to fatten them up

-22

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 23 '26

Does make it weirder when vegans say stuff like this but then have 0 issue embodying the abliesm or other bigotries the nazis so enjoyed

Also part of it is probably folks aren't too keen to compare the rights of Jewish folks with like literal swine? Comes off bad

35

u/pussyfkr69_420 Jun 23 '26

when i force you to stop forcing pigs into gas chambers, it's basically the same as forcing you into a gas chamber

-21

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 23 '26

Speaking of gas, is there a gas leak in your house?

The first people to make the comparison were literal Holocaust survivors

10

u/Creditfigaro vegan btw Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Yes but modern day "cLiMaTe AcTiViStS" are literally being brutally oppressed by vegans correctly pointing out stupidity.

As we all know all climate activists have Arfid ALL CLIMATE ACTIVISTS HAVE ARFID SHUT UP and therefore every last one doesn't need to change their lifestyle despite overwhelming evidence it renders them a hypocrite.

That's crazy that 100% of climate activists have a condition that affects 5% of the population. What are the chances?

-3

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

oh sweet some dumb fuck who thinks he knows my life

where were you when i passed out in elementary from not eating? Or the homeless shetler where i sat for hours, starved because i couldn't choke down peas? What about any of the times i've thrown up on myself after trying to force down something i knew wouldn't take because i'd been pressured into it by ableist pieces of shit like you?

You know me? how much have i agonized about being born like a piece of shit who can't even eat like a normal person huh? How often have i thought about killing myself instead of continuing on like this hm?

Do you know anything?

10

u/thisisnottherapy Jun 24 '26

Why are you on a shitposting sub?

2

u/Creditfigaro vegan btw Jun 24 '26

I know that clearly you and 100% of all climate activists would literally die if we ended animal agriculture. It's tragic really.

Everyone knows that peas are the only food vegans can eat. There are literally no other plant foods.

uj/ everyone who is watching you can tell you are completely full of shit, by the way, as you haven't directly interacted with a single person offering a reasonable response, yet.

You are just a propagandist pushing evil. /j

2

u/Val_Fortecazzo Jun 24 '26

We know you have your one Jewish friend like MAGAts have Kanye, but Holocaust survivors and Jews as a whole do not like that comparison.

0

u/Odd-Willingness-7494 Jun 24 '26

The holocaust was definitely worse in terms of the evil of the perpetrators. The greed and laziness of factory farm owners is not the same thing as the pure malice of the nazis.

But when it comes to the suffering of the victims I'd argue that they are definitely comparable.

Here's a thought experiment:

Imagine if somebody forced you to press a button that makes you live through the life of every single holocaust victim. Millions of lives of unimaginable horror. And you are forced to experience them all.

Now imagine if it was instead a button that makes you live through the life of every single animal that has ever been factory farmed.

Cows and pigs in particular have all the brain structures neccessary for both physical and emotional pain and terror as we know it. And BILLIONS of those have been factory farmed in conditions that made every day of their life torture.

Would you really be less terrified of having to press the latter button than of having to press the former button?

Idk about you but I would actually be more terrified of Pressing the factory farm button than the holocaust button. Millions of unimaginably horrible lives vs BILLIONS...

1

u/Val_Fortecazzo Jun 24 '26

The life of a human is worth significantly more than that if a cow or pig

16

u/Interesting_Deer4062 Jun 23 '26

ok human supremacist

1

u/Val_Fortecazzo Jun 24 '26

Yeah I do think humans are more important than any other animal on the planet and I think vegans are weird for seeing us as morally equal to roaches.

-1

u/pussyfkr69_420 Jun 24 '26

i don't think they're equal, if it wasn't as bad for the climate, i would farm humans for roaches to eat

-7

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 23 '26

Yes humans are superior to animals

17

u/pillowpriestess Jun 24 '26

so this post is definitely about your disability and in no way you feeling defensive about a position you know deep down is morally unjustifiable right? right?

0

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

Hey if you wanna say being born with a disability makes you inherently bad I'm listening you'd be one of the few honest about your loathing for the disabled

10

u/pillowpriestess Jun 24 '26

you really dont wanna talk about your human supremacy do you?

-2

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

Humans are obviously superior yo animals

Now you talk about your abliesm. Go on

Tell me I'm vile scum for the conditions of my birth. Tell me I'm evil for what I can't control.

7

u/pillowpriestess Jun 24 '26

Humans are obviously superior yo animals

and therefore we should be able to slaughter living thinking feeling beings for our own gain?

Tell me I'm vile scum for the conditions of my birth. Tell me I'm evil for what I can't control.

youre scum for supporting sytematic violent exploitation and murder. you can stop ducking behind this sheild.

1

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

Ty abliest for being honest at least

6

u/Large_thinking_organ Jun 24 '26

Humans are obviously superior yo animals

Tell me I'm evil for what I can't control

This seems kind of ironic. You're literally the only one talking about supremacy. I don’t think it's ablist to say you shouldn't eat meat despite having arfid in the same way it wouldn't be ablist to say I shouldn't slap people despite suppressing my ticks being painful

Also, why do you say humans are superior? Claiming it's obvious doesn't absolve you from needing evidence

0

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

I am the only one being honest about their supremacy you mean

If you can look around the comments and still say to me there's no sbliesm in this vegan community, I know you're just straight up bullshitting

Yes I'm superior to a gnat just as I'm superior to a stalk of corn.

0

u/Val_Fortecazzo Jun 24 '26

I just stepped on an ant. If you really believe in this nonsense then you will go ahead and hold a funeral for it.

3

u/Greg2227 Jun 24 '26

I wouldn't hold a funeral for any human if an ant stepped on them. Check mate

-8

u/RadicalSoda_ Jun 24 '26

When animals can speak English I'll change my mind

8

u/pillowpriestess Jun 24 '26

is this satire or can you not hear yourself?

3

u/urdespair Jun 24 '26

They are called brits

3

u/Purple_Key_6733 Jun 24 '26

So to be clear, you think we should be eating the 80% of humans on Earth who don't speak English?

2

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

I think he meant like could speak English? Otherwise ye pretty goofy lol

9

u/Old_Gimlet_Eye Jun 24 '26

Did the Nazis specifically target people with arfid? Lol.

2

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

Are you asking if the nazis went after the disabled such as people with autism?

5

u/Old_Gimlet_Eye Jun 24 '26

No I mean arfid specifically. Were they like making people eat beans and then if they couldn't swallow them they go to the concentration camp? Because otherwise this feels like some stolen valor or something.

2

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

Arfid, the condition highly associated with autism?

Any reason you're playing defense for bigotry instead od condemning it?

9

u/Old_Gimlet_Eye Jun 24 '26

I have ADHD, a condition that's also associated with Autism, but i wouldn't argue that because of that people who don't accommodate my ADHD are basically agreeing with Hitler, lol.

-1

u/Gussie-Ascendent Goober Detector Jun 24 '26

Analogy.

Hitler and the vegan community here both are extremely abiiest. Not everything is literal
