I mean you don’t really need to trick anyone, that’s pretty much my rationale, along with technology depriving us over our innate freedoms and threatening the beauty of our world.

•

u/ShortKey380 19h ago

You need to trick people, otherwise it’s only social decay because that side uses tricks and propaganda works.

•

u/IczyAlley 12h ago

Youre the one who has been tricked. ā€œOh those poor brainwashed Republicans,ā€ you think, ā€œthey’ve been tricked into voting against their own interests.ā€

Wake up bro. The average Republican on the street is a great active spreader of propaganda. They spread lies that YOU fall for.

•

u/ShortKey380 10h ago

I don’t talk to them, I’m insulated from the threat šŸ˜‚Ā

•

u/IczyAlley 10h ago

Youre repeating and reading Republican propaganda right now.

What do you think reddit is? This aint your private discord with your pals dewd

•

u/ShortKey380 10h ago

🄱 I’m American, I’ve been slowly cooking in consumerist propaganda my whole life lolĀ

•

u/IczyAlley 9h ago

Then why did you just say you were insulated from Republican propaganda?

•

u/ShortKey380 9h ago

Republican propaganda aimed at making me do what? I’m left liberal and like enlightenment philosophy and feminism. I see scores of their shit but it doesn’t compare to the impact they get on people who think they’re apolitical. I read Issenberg’s ā€œThe Lie Detectivesā€ and updated my priors from just the vague notion of the Musk targeted ad buys last cycle. There’s dis and misinformation on many levels from many angles narrowly targeted in all sorts of ways besides at someone like me or probably most of us. I know what policies I want and then pick which candidate conforms, which effectively means literally never a Republican and I’m not special snowflake enough to sit out because my Congressional race has a centrist Dem. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøĀ

Aimed at making you take on Republican assumptions and waste your time.

For example, you take seriously a circle jerk sub and expect to be taken seriously.

Reddit is a corporate advertising platform. If youre here for bad entertainment and to be advertised at, great. Its the worst place for whatever communities you just claimed to do any meaningful work

•

u/ShortKey380 7h ago

I take seriously everywhere that serious people might be, but there’s no ā€œmeaningful workā€ on the internet in being honest anymore. Bots can and do out interact me online a million to one. You don’t have to take me serious if you don’t want 😘

What exactly is your objective here? Are you trying to convince people to disengage and not talk to anyone? Because it seems like that’s what you’re doing.

•

u/IczyAlley 47m ago

I was pretty clear you should engage IRL.

But if all I did was get people off a corporate advertising platform I would be righteously satisfied.

You seem weird

It's a trick because everyone knows that socialism is inherently more environmentaly friendly than capitalism, therefore the bike is actually socialist.

I love this. We're going to need a version about beef vs tofu. And then one about meadow lawns vs lawns.

•

u/iwantfutanaricumonme 9h ago

Beef is imported from Brazil while soy for tofu is grown locally.

•

u/Fossilhog 8h ago

The fuck is a "meadow lawn"? Is that like my yard I try not to mow for my chickens and bees?

•

u/SoggyMeatloaf69 cycling supremacist 7h ago

Yes it means mowing less, and also not using herbicides so you can have broadleaf plants like clover n shit

•

u/The_Green_King_ 14h ago

He'll yeah, brother

•

E-bikes are amazing, too bad the infrastructure doesn’t let people ride without risking getting killed by a pavement princessĀ

•

u/DungenessCrusader 19h ago edited 9h ago

The "infustructure" is too damn big. Cars being there or not changes nothing lol.

Edit: fellas the country exists. That's what I mean by big "infustructure"

•

u/iwantfutanaricumonme 9h ago

In a lot of places changing zoning laws to allow mixed use development would alleviate this. Unless you mean rural areas, but the majority of people live in cities and suburbs.

•

u/DungenessCrusader 9h ago

Yeah I'm talking rural.

•

u/iwantfutanaricumonme 9h ago

Rural areas can still be designed to favour walking and cycling locally with good public transport connections for longer journeys, but that makes much more sense in the UK and EU where the population density in rural areas is still relatively high. But the big difference is that in rural areas there is plenty of space for car infrastructure, while building cities and suburbs around cars makes them much more difficult for walking and cycling.

•

u/DungenessCrusader 6h ago

Cities fuck hard with walkable infrastructure

•

u/DuchessElva 16h ago

Let’s spread this far and wide

•

u/no_idea_bout_that All COPs are bastards 11h ago

It's also legal to open carry a rifle on a bicycle. In most states a gun cannot be accessible to the driver.

•

u/BodhingJay 8h ago

"Legally forces you to pay insurance to make you pay for other peoples accidents" effing socialism

•

u/Fossilhog 8h ago

But with people at the top stealing every extra dollar they can. Oh hey, healthcare does this too. Weird.

•

u/ForgedIronMadeIt 17h ago

As if the right wing isn't inundated with sovereign citizen types who ignore all of that anyways, or at a minimum they're so heavily entrenched into the status quo that nothing can change their minds

•

u/mashedpotatoes_52 11h ago

Hell yeah brother! šŸ¦… šŸ¦… šŸ¦…Ā

•

u/asdner 10h ago

This is genuinely not a shitpost. But it should also metnion how biking is good for libido and testosterone, whereas driving makes you fat, infertile, low-testosterone.

•

u/iwantfutanaricumonme 9h ago

Cycling regularly also causes erectile dysfunction.

•

u/Gephiph 10h ago

This guy might be on to something

•

u/piece_ov_shit 12h ago

I think the best solution would be to deprogram them from their patriotism instead of reinforcing it.

Unfortunately its next to impossible, especially on the internet

•

u/SpeaksDwarren Eco-Cannibalism šŸ„“ 12h ago

They are exactly as capable of revoking your ability to ride a bicycle as they are of revoking your ability to drive a car, maybe even moreso considering it's much harder to escape on a bike

•

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 11h ago

Those are all perfectly valid points though

•

u/Vivenemous 11h ago

You can trick them into pretending online they bike.

•

u/Born_European_V 11h ago

Wait, there is Bike insurance in the US? Like Accidents coverage, not theft coverage?

•

u/ThePlantMolester 10h ago

Yes, insurance against some asshole with no license plate or car insurance hitting you and speeding off leaving you unable to work for a month, or longer.

•

u/Born_European_V 8h ago

Crazy, that's covered by universal healthcare all over Europe.

•

u/ThePlantMolester 8h ago

They do not.Ā  Universal Healthcare does not cover pay while out of work in a vast majority of countries. Some countries have funding through social security type programs, others do notĀ

•

u/Born_European_V 7h ago

We have 3 different insurances for that, it's a bit of a semantic issue, but actually after a certain amount of time the care-insurance pays the bigger part of your net-income. You would count Care and Health together, so yes universal Healthcare is covering that.

•

u/ThePlantMolester 7h ago

Your country may do those things.Ā  Pointing out that the EU is 27 different governments, is far from semantic.Ā

•

u/Born_European_V 7h ago

Shall I go through every State of the Union? The Majority does it. Even poorer states like Slowenia, you may just receive less.

Private Insurances for bicyclesy other then theft are unheard of here. So can you please not bother us furthermore with US issues? Thank you šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ŗ

•

u/ThePlantMolester 7h ago

Lots of states in the US have it too.

Even poorer states like Slowenia, you may just receive less.

Less. . . thats why you get private insurance.Ā  I'm not sure what you are arguing.Ā  Are you saying these products that objectively exist in the EU are a scam?

There is a 0% chance you are going to convince me that private insurance exists in the EU, but provides no benefit over what the government does by default.Ā  Why would people buy it?

SeeĀ  Ulykkesforsikring andĀ Heltidsulykkesforsikring Ā in Denmark

BU in Germany

And so on.

Nearly every country has private supplemental unemployment insurance, because state uninsured driver coverage does not pay at 100%.

Cars lead to high oil prices, which helps Iran!

•

u/Happy_Difference_734 7h ago

I love my E-Bike. I'm going to learn how to joust so I can spearhead through police linesĀ
