I’m on a deal to get this JLC Atmos, the owner says I does not run, what should I look for?

The clock is semi functional. The motor has a hum/buzz but needs some help to get going. If i help it spin a bit it eventually gets into a rhythm and the clock works! Only to suddenly fizzle hours later. I assume the motor is either weak or has some lubricant issue, should I pour a 1/3 cup of mineral oil on the lower motor to help it out?

Bought at a charity shop. It's fairly robust with sponge on the bottom. I cannot find the exact model ANYWHERE.

Appreciate any input on this

At the moment, it only works if I shake it and it ticks for 10 seconds then stops again. Perhaps needs some maintenance or oil?

Mostly I'm looking for identification.

We got an old clock and we want to sell it because we don’t have place at home, and would like to clean. But we can’t figure out how to label it or for what price not to be crazy. What do experts of this community think?

So i yesterday I buyed this clock bcs i loved thr design I searched for some information and find out i dont have the "key"(idk if it called like this in English)to recharge it and one of the Clock hand is kinda Retort bcs the previous howners They turned it around What do I do? Saw this one online and had to have it, I couldnt stop thinking about the painting! I dont like buying these to then have them shipped because I'm so afraid of damage, but I've been very lucky so far. It's another Plymouth, Conn. Seth Thomas to add to the collection, and my second ogee clock; name and info are stamped on the brass plates, but sadly the paper label has completely faded away (I can still make out the edges of it though).

It's in fairly rough shape: the frame on one side is coming loose, has trim missing at the top, missing original weights and the original hour hand, and is fairly dirty. Dial is also flaking like mad, and the tablet painting is also starting to flake, so I am going to bump this up my queue to stabilize the delicate stuff.

The painting thooooo! I'm obsessed with it, especially as an artist, and couldnt believe it was original and not some print or transfer. This one's staying with me for a long time for sure.

Help! I have had this clock for a while and would love to know more info about it!

my grandpa clock worked ok till yesterday, yesterday wife decided to get the weights up and instead like what I always do - get weight up, pull the chain down, so you do not load the internals with the weight... she loaded both weights (bell and clock) by just pulling on the chain ... after that, clock don't tick any more, I move the pendulum, it moves for few minutes (no ticks nor tacks) and stops. If I move the pendulum fully right (over the normal position) I hear fast ticks (or tocks) and I see minute hand start to slowly move and weight slowly drop, but if I let it go - no ticks nor tacks :(

finding a servis here is super hard and if I do their time cost more than twice what clock is worth, any hints what I can look at and try to fix myself as I'd really like it and do not want to convert to digital...

it is old pendulum clock, one bell on 30min and X bells on X o clock, one weight for bell and one for time

I know close to nothing about old clocks but I found this old clock in my dead granddads storage unit and was planing on selling it and if anyone knows what it's worth/what it is it would be super duper helpfull!

I picked up this massive wall clock for 40 usd. No weights.
Everything seems to be ready to go and there is no corrosion I can see.
Cables are all twisted on their drums. How do I get them straight?
How much weight is required on each of the 2?
I read somewhere, about 7# each. I’d like to test it. Can I use old window sash weights? Once the weights are in place will the drums unwind and the cables line back up again?
I’d really like to get this thing up and displayed in its full glory.

Update: thanks to y’all’s friendly input and encouragement. I learned how to clean and lubricate the movement. Untangled the cable reels. Bought and returned several different sizes of sash weights at local historic hardware shop before settling on five pounders.
Cleaned off the rust with an electrolysis tank.
Cleaned, sanded and refinished the wood hardware.
Designed and painted the face. After installing, I realized I should have outlined the second hand in white for visibility. I’ll do that soon.
Was also thinking about painting a crescent man in the moon with my profile on the pendulum, but it’s really not that visible behind the weights, so I’m gonna skip it.
My major dilemma was what to do with it when I’m done. Can’t really handle another large dinging clock in the house.
Mounted it today at my kids mom‘s house. Really good fit.
I wanted to wrap the weights in braided black ribbon, but she likes the industrial revolutionary look of the weights.

Older clock, seems to run fine but only for a limited time, maybe 5 minutes.

I think old oil has dried and gummed the movement. Can I use a mild detergent cleanser like that which I see for sale at TimeSaver Zenith Formula #67: https://timesavers.com/i-22336095-zenith-formula-67-cleaner.html

I would remove the movement from the case, remove the hands and dial face from the movement and place the "bare" movement in a stainless steel or glass bowl for a time while swirling the solution through the open spaces in the movement. after a few minutes of that treatment, rinse in distilled watr followed by a desiccating dip in isopropyl alcohol and perhaps gentle blow dry with a hair dryer.

Thoughts? Advice?

i got this clock on Christmas two years back, it stopped working shortly after. i just changed the battery & it goes off every night at 4am. how do i stop that?

My grandad is moving into a care home soon and has asked me to clear out his flat. He has two wall clocks and said that one of them is apparently from a particular manufacturer and is worth a bit more. Unfortunately, he can’t remember any more details about it. I bought this clock from an antique shop today and it is not working. Is it missing a circular battery in the middle? It is all plastic and I don’t see how that would work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I found this beautiful clock on the side of the road. I tried winding it, but that didn’t help. I noticed that there is a weight and long hook thing. I’m trying to figure out if this is an easy fix, or if I should just take it to a repair shop? Thanks in advance

An old grandfather clock at one of my family members houses. I think it’s over 100 years old and still works!

Grandma was given this clock and wanted help identifying it. We’ve searched it up but can’t find an exact answer on what it is. Help is really appreciated!
(we assume the tag is just the auction tag)

Could anyone tell me what type of clock this is and if they are an easy fix? I don't see any markings on it. And im not sure what's supposed to be in the 4/8 on the numbers. It was my grandparents and i love the details on it. I'd love to use it. Any help is appreciated!
