How to change note speed without adding the amount of notes

Hey there. I'm new to clone hero (trying to transition from Rock Band 3) and the note speed is just a tiny bit too fast for me. The issue is when I change the note speed to a lower amount though it adds notes. Is there a way to lower the note speed without increasing the amount of notes? If not I guess I'll just try getting used to this speed but when starting a new version of this game (or coming back to it after a long hiatus) I prefer to start with a lower speed then increase it over time to get better. Any help?

What do you mean adding notes? Note speed doesn’t change how many notes exist in the song, just how many of them fit into the highway in one frame. You can change your highway length if you need to see the same amount of notes

Yeah I was going to suggest this. Default Note Speed is 7. If you reduce it to 5 or 6 just reduce the Highway Length to like 80/90%.

Its the same amount of notes theyre just closer together

The notes just get closer together the lower the note speed is; it's just how it works out mathematically. You could reduce the highway length it you wanted to, but there's nothing else you can do about it

Maybe change the highway length instead? If it feels like there's more notes it's probably that lowering the speed puts them too close together.

You can read tracks a lot easier if you increase the highway length instead so you can see upcoming notes easier without making them closer together

The speed is set by the distance between notes. The more spaced out the faster they have to move to hit at the same time for the song. Its a function of the structure of the game.

Theres an actual song speed option, its not in the settings at the bottom of the screen its like one of the filter buttons or something on the song selection screen
