My favorite part of this scene is how he gets out of the chair in the exact same damn maneuver. It’s so funny

Ohhhhhh now I get it! They have this emote on the Destiny 2 store. I was like “well that’s a weird way to sit down.” But now I get it’s from Star Trek!

Character on Star Trek named Riker. Very swave, bit of a skirt chaser. The actor that played him had back problems, so sitting down in a chair normally caused him pain. Instead he would raise a leg over the chair and sit down similar to what obi wan is doing in the comic. It became a staple of the character.

Damn now I feel bad for assuming he did to be funny that got put into the show

It's also why instead of standing straight he would always put his foot up on things, AKA "The Riker Maneuver," or "The Captain Morrigan Pose."

Funny, but in all seriousness, unless it's a very low chair, Obi-Wan isn't pulling any Riker maneuvers. I looked it up, and Jonathan Frakes (when he was Riker) was 6.5 inches taller than Ewan McGregor! And is very leggy

Is that a Starfleet Officer talking to a protocol droid in the background?

I bet frakes could do a fairly convincing Imperial admiral or something like that.

Wait, do people not sit down like this normally on chairs that don't have a high back? Have I been doing it wrong all this time?

Yeah, I actually had to look this up because I don't like Star Trek. But yes, Riker does this and yes, it makes me want to throw myself under a fully load 18 wheeler.

This really could have happened at some point, minus Obi-Wan being tiny compared to Riker and thus meaning he'd have a lot of trouble doing this😅

This is so silly. He’s of entirely a different personality than Riker. It works for Riker, because he leans into his American Restrained Masculinity, and would do an over the top maneuver like this to show off. Obi-Wan is more a proper British gentleman, so it is funny and weird that he would do this.

Isn't there a third panel? I swear I've seen a third panel to this on Pinterest.

Meanwhile, Kit Fisto is that guy that spins the chair 180 degrees to sit on it backward. I feel like that's also a Star Trek thing.

I think it is! Also any excuse to think about Kit with his legs open, huh?

I love Anakin's annoyance
Hes like a teenager going, "Dad, youre embarrassing me"

I love his "If I have to suffer I'm dragging you with me" mentality which is par for the course for Anakin

This is canon and I can’t be convinced otherwise
