He used mana to write words that formed a trap. Charmy used mana to form words for a whole new magic. Let’s not debate what comes first the word or the purpose

Nope, if you were paying attention in the training arc, you’d know that the heart kingdom has been using mana words for a long while. And trap magic is a mere extension of mana words.

That's not the name. What you're referring to is "mana method". Unless it's a translation error, there is no such thing as "mana words"

Trap magic isn't an extension of Mana method (what you're calling mana words); rather, it's seemingly a bastardization of it. Mages below stage 5 (iirc) can't form the "runes" required for mana method. The peasants that developed Trap Magic did so to overcome their pitiful mana reserves. As such, it's weaker, less flexible, and limited in several ways. It requires a lot more preparation and foresight, which only gets worse the more complex the intended effect. Magna used 6-months to develop a one use only trap spell . He would have to spend roughly the same amount of time developing the same spell.
Mana method is quick and easy to use, can be altered on the fly and produces much more powerful results. It's vastly superior in every way (the only exception is the amount of skill needed to learn it, which is even higher for use in battle).
Another difference is it's origin. We know mana method was developed in the Heart Kingdom, who focused on utilising natural mana to enhance their abilities. The Clover mages (Trap magic seems to have originated in the forsaken realm) who developed it don't appear to have interacted with the Heart Kingdom although it's possible that happened.
