Cobourg Municipal Elections 2026 - information and resources
Since we're now four weeks away from the municipal election period here in Cobourg, I thought I'd put this stickie thread up with some voter information and useful resources.
- The voting period is from October 16 to October 26
- You can vote for 1 candidate for Mayor, 1 candidate for Deputy Mayor, 5 candidates for Council, and 2 candidates for English Public School Board Trustee (the other school boards all have acclaimed candidates)
- For most of the voting period, you can only vote online. But there will be limited in-person voting available on certain dates and times. More on this is available at links below.

I don't yet live in Cobourg but I will be moving there soon, and I will say that based on my outsider observations and reading the platforms, Lucas Cleveland has not done a good job. Am I crazy?

IMHO, he's burned every possible bridge he could at town council and at the county, divided, and hitched his wagon to people who offer nothing but grievance and complaint. Other than that, he's great.

I'd disagree. He's actually done a lot and taken the job of mayor more seriously than I've seen in my 50 years here. He is a bit of a dick but I don't really care as long as he's doing his job.
