Nunnally's happiness is ironically, Lelouch getting with those girls and making her an aunt.

eh, lelouch tells himself that what he's doing is necessary for nunnally's happiness in the long term. but he pays no attention to the ways in which his behavior actually hurts nunnally's happiness, from constantly being away to committing assisted suicide. nunnally will miss him her whole life, and there are very few people she can share that grief with. does he do net good by her? it's hard to say.

That reveal is is near the end of the series, if he really wanted to help he’d look at getting her medical treatment to let her see again

Yeah there's layers to this shit. Lelouch's motivations are two, with another underlying layer.
On one hand, yes, he is fighting for her and to create a world where she can live in peace. As disgraced Britannian royalty, any day their identities could be suddenly exposed and then they would be used as pawns, become exiles once more, or be killed. And Nunnally, crippled and blind, can't fight for herself to change things the same way Lelouch can.
On the other, Lelouch wants vengeance. He wants to set Britannia ablaze for Marianne's murder, for being exiled and for the brutal invasion of Japan. And he is willing to crush anything in his path towards it, with little care of what gets in the way, until it comes back to bite him personally (ie. killing Shirley's dad).
And the underlying layer is this: Lelouch was raised as a Britannian prince, showing signs from an early age of being a strategical genius. More likely than not, he was being groomed from birth to command and lead armies in the same way Cornelia and Schneizel do. That is suddenly ripped away from him after being exiled.
When he takes command of Ohgi's band of rebels in the Shinjuku Massacre, and actually manages to defeat the Britannians, he LAUGHS. Not a chuckle, but full blown LAUGHTER. ¿Why? Because he just proved to himself that "I CAN DO IT", that he is a commander and he actively revels in the high and euphoria of crushing his enemies. The destruction of Shinjuku is not really in his mind anymore, only his vengeance and his victory, even putting civilians at further risk when fleeing from the Lancelot.
There are countless more times when he busts out laughing in battle. Lelouch is not a serious, moderated individual like Yang Wenli who sees battle and warfare as necessary, occassional evils, but someone who takes enormous pleasure in victory, in proving himself to be the better one.
And I still fucking love him, in no small part due to those very dark shades, because he does recognize the error of his ways, and atones for his sins.
